| Integrations | Optional tools and components listed include local Ollama/Gemma, Kokoro voices, Microsoft Edge Neural TTS, and Android edge workers. | The documented workflow uses Voice Memos, Photos, Files, iOS or Android share sheets and Android gallery apps. |
| Privacy | The project says uploads, DSP output, timing history, and local model inference stay on the host unless an integration that sends data elsewhere is enabled. Transcription models may download on first use; after that, inference runs locally. | Recordings are processed entirely on the device and are never uploaded or stored by Routes Software; Denoise has no user accounts. |

In their own words
AudioEnhancerMAX
AudioEnhancerMAX is a free, open-source audio production suite for turning raw recordings into prepared audio through enhancement, transcription, mastering, text-to-speech, monitoring, and edge processing. It comes as a packaged app for Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 13 or later), runs from source on Linux and Windows, and supports batch processing. Cleanup options address noise, wind, buzz, static, reverb, breath, and mouth clicks; enhancement tools include Auto EQ, LUFS normalization, super-resolution, and Demucs music preservation. Its Precision Speech Editor connects transcripts with suggested edits and renders only the changes a user approves. Local Faster-Whisper transcription exports TXT, SRT, VTT, or JSON. The app offers five delivery profiles and validated WAV, MP3, and FLAC overrides. The maker says core DSP and packaged transcription run locally. Optional integrations include local Ollama assistance, Microsoft Edge Neural TTS, and Android workers on a trusted LAN. Selected Edge TTS sends text to Microsoft, while Android workers receive audio chunks over the LAN. The MIT-licensed app's Smart Enhance does not promise perfect repair of damaged audio.
Denoise
Denoise is an audio cleanup app for Android and iOS that uses an on-device neural network to reduce wind, traffic, hiss, hum, and crowd noise in voice memos, interviews, and videos. Processing runs locally, including in airplane mode, and a one-minute clip typically takes 5–10 seconds. Users can import recordings from Voice Memos, Photos, Files, or an app share sheet; supported inputs include MP4, M4A, MP3, and WAV. The free plan lets users import, process, and hear a before-and-after preview, but saving and export require Pro. Pro can export M4A, MP3, or WAV, replace audio inside a video, restore detail in clipped, muffled, or distant recordings, and separate vocals from instrumental tracks on-device. Audio tools include a 5-band EQ with presets and automatic LUFS normalization. There is no file-length limit, including for recordings up to a three-hour lecture. Routes Software says recordings are neither uploaded nor stored, and the app has no user accounts. Google Firebase collects anonymous usage analytics and crash and diagnostic reports. Pro costs $2.99 a month or $14.99, paid once for lifetime access.
