Augmented Classroom
Augmented Classroom is a platform for interactive, curriculum-aligned K–6 lessons, using AI and augmented reality. Teachers can choose Explore, Create, Collaborate, and Quiz modes, with 2D, 3D, and marker-based AR content. Listed subjects include maths, art and creativity, language, technology, science, and social studies. An AI voice assistant supports 13+ languages, and a lesson-plan library is included; Basic has limited lesson plans, while Pro offers unlimited lesson plans. The platform runs on web, Windows, iOS, and Android. Basic is a single-user educator account for one device, without student join-in access; a listed trial plan supports up to 30 students. The company says it does not collect student data and that pupils are not processed or identified. Its compliance information describes European hosting, TLS 1.2 data transfers, AES256 encryption at rest, and practices addressing GDPR, COPPA, FERPA, and the EU AI Act. Pricing lists a free demo, a 14-day trial, a monthly plan at $1.99 a month per student, and a yearly plan at $4.50 a year per student, with the teacher account free.
OpenAR
OpenAR is a free, open-source web resource for building lightweight browser-based augmented reality experiences. It provides customizable templates, trainings, and tutorials aimed at digital humanities practitioners, including people with limited coding knowledge. The project uses the free browser-based AR.js library. OpenAR describes projects connected to physical spaces, historical narratives, and cultural objects, with applications in research, teaching, and public work. Its intended audience is scholars, educators, and public practitioners using digital technologies in the humanities. The DWELL Lab at the University of Rhode Island brings the project to visitors from Kingston, Rhode Island. The project says specialized training modules and public workshops are planned with the DWELL Lab at URI. OpenAR is under development in 2025 and asks visitors to check back for updates. Its Free plan costs nothing, with all resources available online. Lesson authoring is supported, and web is the listed platform.
