In their own words
Aural
Aural is a platform for conducting structured, adaptive interviews by chat, voice, or video. Its AI interviewer changes the depth, tone, and direction of follow-up questions based on participant responses. Interviews can be live or asynchronous and recorded; sessions are automatically transcribed and summarized, with structured results exportable as XLSX or PDF. Templates support open-ended, multiple-choice, rating-scale, coding, and whiteboard questions. Aural supports interview languages including English, Chinese, Spanish, French, and German. It provides a REST API with Bearer-token authentication and an OpenAPI specification, but does not provide webhooks or official SDKs. Aural is open source under the MIT license and can be self-hosted; that version supports pluggable LLMs including OpenAI, Kimi, MiniMax, or compatible APIs. Aural states that data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3, and that it complies with GDPR and other global privacy regulations. The free plan includes three templates, 100 AI tokens, 30 minutes of session time, and one seat. Paid plans include usage-based pricing and a Starter plan at $9 a month.
Vesume
Vesume is a web-based one-way video interviewing service for screening candidates at scale. Recruiters create interviews, add questions, let candidates respond at their convenience, and review recorded answers. Teams can evaluate candidates together, and the service presents Vesume Async and Vesume Intro as its two products. The homepage states that it has 50+ ATS integrations and offers hiring solutions for retail, airlines and education. A free plan provides 10 interview responses and one Intro each month. Pay as you go costs $0.75 / response, billed monthly, with no monthly commitment and no limit on user seats, interviews or responses. Starting Up costs $66.33 / month, billed annually; it includes up to 500 asynchronous responses monthly, then $0.40 per extra response, plus up to 10 intros monthly and then $1 per intro when Intro goes live. Both paid plans include email support for clients and candidates. Enterprise is billed annually at a custom price. Vesume identifies Vesume pvt. ltd. as the service provider. Its policy says it does not process sensitive personal information and retains personal information no longer than six months after account termination unless law requires otherwise.
