| Face matching | Authonex compares a selfie or live face with the photograph on an identity document. | A live capture is compared with the document portrait using face-api.js embeddings and a configurable confidence threshold. |
| Licence | The homepage labels the project open source under the MIT licence. | The community source code is released under the MIT License, while the Idswyft name and logo remain trademarks. |
| Privacy | The site says zero-knowledge proofs can confirm claims such as age without exposing the underlying personal data. | Face embeddings are stripped before persistence, retention is configurable, and full erasure endpoints are available. |
| Self-hosting | Authonex says the same feature set can run on customer servers or in its cloud. | The Community Edition runs with Docker Compose using PostgreSQL, an ML engine, an API service and a React portal. |
| What it does | Authonex describes itself as an open-source platform for checking identity documents, screening watch lists, matching faces, and issuing digital IDs. | Idswyft provides an identity-verification API combining document OCR, cross-validation, liveness detection and face matching. |

In their own words
Authonex
Authonex is an identity verification platform available through the web, an API, or self-hosting. It scans identity documents, screens watch lists, compares faces with ID photos, and issues digital IDs. Document checks cover format, barcode integrity, security features, expiry, revocation, field consistency, and fraud indicators. Digital IDs are cryptographically signed and can be shown as QR codes that refresh every 60 seconds. Zero-knowledge proofs can confirm claims such as age without exposing the underlying personal data. Risk tools include behavioral analysis, device fingerprinting, threat intelligence, real-time scoring, custom rules, and blocklists. The security page describes AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, and hybrid Ed25519 and Falcon-512 signatures. Authonex states it is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. Its open-source software is available under the MIT license for customer servers. Cloud verification costs $0.05, paid once. The free allowance is unclear: the homepage lists 100 verifications per month, while developer documentation lists 1,000.
