In their own words
Automated Logic WebCTRL
Automated Logic WebCTRL is a web-based building automation platform for facility managers overseeing buildings, campuses, or multi-site portfolios. Through a browser, users can manage and control sites from anywhere, with network control, monitoring, alarms, trending, and scheduling in one interface. Its HVAC controls include ASHRAE Guideline 36-compliant sequences and built-in fault detection and diagnostics; the FDD library can identify over 100 faults in typical HVAC equipment. Predictive analytics is an add-on. Other tools include color floor plans, customizable graphics, reports, and time-lapse playback of up to 24 hours of building operation. Listed integration options include BACnet, ASD, M-Bus, Modbus, SNMP, and MQTT, plus add-ons for OpenADR, directory services, Microsoft Exchange, trend export, and weather data. WebCTRL Cloud removes the need for an on-site BAS server and includes automatic updates, backups, and AWS-hosted infrastructure. On-premise software is installed and configured by an Automated Logic branch or dealer. The product is paid, with pricing on request, and supports web, desktop, and mobile platforms in a hybrid deployment model.
BEMServer
BEMServer is an open-source platform for deploying a modular building energy management system. It gathers information from building management systems and sensors alongside weather, occupant feedback, building descriptions, and contextual data. The platform connects building hardware with data-oriented services, storing building models, time series, and events for access through documented REST APIs. Its data model follows IFC and Haystack standards. Processing modules interpret collected information to identify issues or inefficient operation and support recommendations and decisions. Listed modules cover fault detection and diagnosis, renewable energy simulation, energy management, load forecasting, indoor environmental quality, and visualization. The software is licensed under AGPL-3.0, and sellers using a modified version must publish their modifications under that license. There is no software license fee, although installation, configuration, maintenance, and selected modules may be paid services. The maker recommends help from someone with Python and Docker knowledge and says installation was tested on Debian 9. BEMServer currently supports building monitoring; other uses require extending its functionality.
