Overview

Avature combines an ATS, candidate relationship management, and onboarding with a wider set of talent-management capabilities. Its configurable data model and workflow engine let organizations adapt processes across business units and hiring models. That breadth can support a connected approach to talent, but it also makes Avature a better fit for organizations with cross-functional needs than for teams looking only for a straightforward ATS.

The company was founded in 2005; its history traces the beginning of the Avature story to 2004. It describes its solutions as serving global organizations and highly competitive industries.

Key features

The ATS supports configurable workflows, approvals, data capture, and hiring processes for different regions, brands, business units, and hiring models. Career sites, interview scheduling, and workflow automation are also included. This is a strong combination for employers whose recruitment practices differ across the organization; a team with one consistent hiring process may have less reason to choose a configurable enterprise platform.

Avature’s wider talent offering includes candidate relationship management, onboarding, internal mobility, learning and development, performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, and HR case management. Bringing these capabilities into one platform may suit organizations seeking to cover more of the employee journey alongside recruitment. Buyers focused on hiring alone may not need that range.

AI capabilities in the ATS include semantic search, candidate matching, applicant ranking, job recommendations, chatbot functionality, and configurable AI agents. The feature set addresses several points in candidate discovery and engagement, while the ability to configure agents fits organizations that want to adapt how AI is used.

Avature says its integration offering includes more than 300 out-of-the-box integrations, an open API framework, and self-service or full-service options. Its APIs cover System, Bulk Import, Events, and SCIM-based User Management, with a REST API Builder. The framework supports over 100,000 integration runs per month and processes millions of records daily, making integration capacity a notable fit for organizations with substantial data movement or connected systems.

Security provisions include SAML single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, IP allowlisting, role-based access controls, and full-disk and field-specific encryption. Avature holds ISO 27001, ISO 27017, SOC 1, and SOC 2 certifications and achieved FedRAMP Authorized status in April 2025. It says it runs weekly automated vulnerability scans, commissions third-party penetration tests twice a year, and subjects each release to more than 10,000 tests. Configurable privacy settings support regulations including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PIPEDA, PIPL, APPI, and the Australian Privacy Act.

Pricing

Avature is paid software with custom pricing. Buyers must request a quote to assess whether its broad recruiting and talent-management scope fits their budget; it is not a published-price option for teams comparing costs up front.

Platforms

Avature supports web, Android, and iOS, and lists API access. Hosting is available on Avature’s private cloud, with data centers in the US, Europe, and Asia, or on AWS public cloud worldwide. The choice of hosting models gives global organizations options, while technical support is available in English, German, French, Spanish, and Mandarin; customer cases are tracked through its Customer Portal.

Who it's for

Avature is aimed at large enterprises managing complex recruitment across multiple regions, brands, and role types, particularly those that also need talent-management capabilities. Its configurable workflows, integration framework, and hosting choices address operational complexity. Smaller teams or organizations with standardized hiring and no need for broader talent tools should look for a narrower solution.

Pros and cons

Pros: Configurable recruiting processes can accommodate different regions, brands, business units, and hiring models.
Pros: ATS, CRM, onboarding, and wider talent-management capabilities give organizations a broad set of tools on one platform.
Pros: More than 300 out-of-the-box integrations, multiple API options, and substantial stated integration capacity support connected enterprise environments.
Pros: Multiple security controls, certifications, privacy settings, and hosting models address varied organizational requirements.
Cons: Custom pricing makes cost comparison dependent on a quote rather than a published plan.
Cons: Its enterprise scope is difficult to justify for teams with simple hiring processes or needs limited to an ATS.

Alternatives

For a dedicated candidate relationship management shortlist, compare Candidate Relationship Management Software; for contingent staffing needs, see Contingent Workforce Management Software. Buyers prioritizing the candidate-facing side of recruitment can review Candidate Experience Software, while organizations seeking internal talent matching can explore Talent Marketplace Software. For employee service workflows, consider HR Service Delivery Software; teams centered on recruiting relationships can also compare Recruiting CRM Software.

SmartRecruiters is an alternative with Android, iOS, web, and API support; its Essential plan starts at $14,995 per month and includes ATS, CRM, onboarding, SMS messaging, job distribution, and dynamic scheduling. Loxo is worth comparing for teams seeking a freemium option: it has a free plan and a Core plan at 149.00 USD per month, billed annually and paid up front, per user. Talention Candidate Relationship Management offers Starter and Enterprise plans for small and large recruiting teams respectively, as well as a free trial.

Untap Talent may suit organizations looking for a program-focused tool: its Starter plan costs 250.00 USD per month, billed monthly, and includes unlimited submissions, programs, and users. Eightfold Candidate Relationship Management is an alternative for buyers considering a CRM as part of Eightfold Talent Acquisition, with no additional technology purchase. HireOnboard CRM uses pay-per-job-credit pricing, with one credit starting at 200.00 USD per once; Humanforce is another paid option with Android, iOS, web, and API support. Sense is a paid option supporting Android, iOS, web, API, and extension platforms.

Verdict

Choose Avature if a large organization needs configurable recruitment across complex structures and wants talent-management capabilities on the same platform. Its integration capacity, hosting choices, and breadth are the main reasons to consider it. Look elsewhere if your hiring needs are simple, limited to an ATS, or require a price you can compare before requesting a quote.
