Avaturn vs FaceFig

Avaturn creates customizable 3D human avatars from 2D photos for games, apps, and metaverses. Its generative AI produces a recognizable avatar, which users can adjust by body shape, clothes, accessories, hairstyle, shoes, and glasses. Avaturn says these options support more than 10,000 possible looks. Avatars can be exported as GLB/glTF 2.0, FBX, or VRM 3D models for Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, Maya, Cinema4D, and other environments. Exports include a standard humanoid rig, ARKit blendshapes, and visemes, and are compatible with Mixamo animations and VTubing software. Developer tutorials cover Unity, Unreal Engine, HTML and JavaScript, Three.js, Android, and iOS. The listed app integrations are free, with no limits on avatar creation or exports through the free integration. The API and web SDK for advanced customization require a paid package; PRO costs $800 a month and includes up to 1,000 avatars per month, with an extra-avatar charge listed. Platforms include Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, though standalone Windows and Mac apps require contacting Avaturn.

FaceFig is a web-based tool for creating face-based avatars and downloading them as HD images. Both listed avatar styles are supported, and commercial use is allowed. The service does not provide rigged exports, game-engine export, or face tracking, so its listed output is image downloads. A free plan includes 3 free regenerations per month and 7-day original retention. Paid packs are one-time purchases with credits, photo limits, and longer retention. The Starter Pack costs 24.90 USD once for 100 credits, up to 25 standard-resolution photos, and 30-day original retention. Larger options include the Pro Pack at 199.00 USD once, Studio Pack at 745.00 USD once, Agency Pack at 2240.00 USD once, and Enterprise Pack at 4980.00 USD once. Enterprise includes 50,000 credits, up to 12,500 standard-resolution photos, 5-year original retention, and custom volume and SLA through sales.
