In their own words
Avery Design & Print
Avery Design & Print is a free web tool for designing labels and other printable Avery products. Start from a blank template or customize a prepared design, then add text and uploaded images. Image tools crop, size, and position uploads; text tools offer straight or curved lines and typography choices. For variable data printing, mail merge can import contact information and other data from .xls, .xlsx, and .csv files. Its barcode generator makes barcodes and QR codes and supports sequential numbering. Projects can be saved to a computer without an account, or to a free Avery account with one, and shared by email through project links. Google Drive can supply Google Sheets data for merging or Google Photos for a design. Print with an inkjet or laser printer, or use Avery WePrint to have a project professionally printed and mailed. Avery says its online design tools protect data in transit and storage with TLS and SSL and do not sell images or content.
Postable
Postable is a web service that prints, addresses, stamps, and mails physical greeting cards. Customers can choose a design, customize photos, messages, and fonts, or upload an image. Contacts can submit their details through a personal link, or users can import CSV and Excel files or enter addresses manually. The online address book is free even without card purchases. Carbon Copy sends one message to multiple contacts and personalizes each card with the recipient's name. Users can schedule birthday cards for the year in advance and anniversary cards for a chosen date. Business features include contact imports, logo-branded cards, volume discounts, and a dedicated account representative. Postable says its cards are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Cards usually arrive in about a week, but delivery is not guaranteed; tracking shows locations and estimated dates, while USPS does not scan final delivery. Listed card rates are $5.99 plus stamp for one card, $5.29 each plus stamp for 2–19 cards, and $4.59 each plus stamp for 20 or more. The site also lists the paid service from $2.24.
