NSIS

NSIS is a free programmer’s tool for creating self-contained Windows executable installers and uninstallers. Its scripting language handles variables, functions, string manipulation, and custom installation logic, including installing or removing software, changing system settings, and extracting files. Developers can choose classic or modern wizard interfaces, create custom pages, and provide multiple interface languages, including right-to-left languages. Compression options include ZLib, BZip2, and LZMA. Plug-ins can extend installer tasks and interfaces, download files, make internet connections, or patch existing files. The compiler preprocessor can combine projects, automate builds, and produce lite or full variants. Installers can support command-line packaging, silent installation, and CRC32 self-checking. The compiler can be built on POSIX systems such as Linux and BSD, but generated installers run on Windows. Documentation links to a FAQ, wiki, and forum.
