| Spec score · Kubernetes Monitoring | 8.1 (#21) | 9.0 (#5) |
| Integrations | A Grafana data source provides service RED, health, trace search, and cross-zone traffic; its backend plugin keeps the API token out of the browser. | Documented integrations include AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Vercel, databases, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Logstash, Fluentd and the OpenTelemetry Collector. |
| OpenTelemetry | Existing OpenTelemetry data can be sent to the gateway over OTLP/HTTP on port 4318 or OTLP/gRPC on port 4317. | Middleware uses OpenTelemetry collectors and SDKs as its instrumentation layer and accepts existing customer OTel pipelines. |
| Security | The open edition includes OIDC single sign-on and project roles, and the product describes authentication as enabled by default. | Middleware says customer data is encrypted at rest and in transit using TLS 1.2+ and AES-256. |
