In their own words
AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery
AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery recovers on-premises and cloud applications on AWS to reduce downtime and data loss. Recovery instances can launch within minutes from the latest server state or an earlier point in time. Afterward, replicated data can return to the primary site for failback, and non-disruptive recovery and failback drills can run while replication continues. Sources include physical infrastructure, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and other cloud providers. Supported workloads run on supported Windows and Linux versions, including Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and SAP. Recovery targets include EC2 instances in another Availability Zone or AWS Region. Point-in-time recovery can provide an operational copy from before a security incident. Replication uses TLS 1.2 in transit and can use Amazon EBS encryption at rest, with VPN, Direct Connect, or VPC peering for private connectivity. The service supports up to 300 servers in one staging account and up to 3,000 in one target account using multiple staging accounts. Pricing is $0.03 per month, billed $0.028 per source server per hour; additional AWS resource charges apply.
Quorum onQ
Quorum onQ is a hybrid recovery appliance that maintains ready-to-run copies of physical and virtual servers. It is designed for recovery after storage, system, or site failure, with one-click restoration to a selected point in time and the ability to boot protected servers from the appliance within minutes. Backups can run every 15 minutes, with 30 days of retention; Archive Vault provides longer retention. Automated recovery testing starts servers after snapshots, and an isolated clean room supports testing and ransomware investigation. Supported physical servers include Windows, Red Hat Linux, CentOS Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Ubuntu Linux. Virtual environments include VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, Oracle VM, and other hypervisors. Models cover 5–120 protected machines. Security includes immutable backups, encryption, multifactor authentication, and zero-trust controls. Pricing requires contacting Quorum for sizing and a quote.
