AWS Wickr vs Diode Collab

AWS Wickr is an encrypted messaging and collaboration service for organizations and government agencies. It supports one-to-one and group messages, rooms, voice and video calls, file and screen sharing, and apps for Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows, as well as web access. Users can set message and file expiration from one minute to 365 days, including burn-on-read timers. Calls allow up to 100 participants; presenter mode can include up to 500 view-only attendees. AWS says messages, calls, files, screen sharing, and location sharing use 256-bit end-to-end encryption, with keys held by intended recipients. Administrators can configure retention of internal and external communications in a customer-managed private data store. Integrations include bots and RESTful APIs, an ATAK plugin, and single sign-on with Active Directory, Okta, and OpenID Connect services. Cloud deployment is available; Wickr Enterprise is self-hosted. Pricing starts at $5/user/mo. There is no free plan, but a three-month Premium trial is listed.

Diode Collab combines team messaging, file sharing, and remote access across Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows. Direct messages and group channels are described as end-to-end encrypted, with encryption enabled by default. Teams can collaborate on files, synchronize them, and use file backup on eligible plans. The pricing page lists unlimited storage and unlimited users on every plan. Browser upload and download links let people share files with recipients who do not have the app installed. Business adds secure equipment access, regional access tunnels, and custom endpoints. Signup uses pseudonymous identities and does not require a phone number or other personally identifiable information, according to the maker. Diode says content is not stored on servers and distinguishes blockchain membership proofs from stored content. New Zones begin on the free Nomad plan. Group costs $3 a month per user, Team 10.00 USD, and Business 15.00 USD.
