In their own words

Azahar

Azahar is a free, open-source emulator for Nintendo 3DS games, with standalone applications for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. It is intended to let 3DS owners use their game libraries with options such as higher resolutions, modern controllers and save states. The project also serves homebrew debugging, research and preservation of the 3DS ecosystem. Community contributors continue work associated with Citra. Libretro cores allow use with RetroArch and similar frontends, including on iOS and tvOS, but Azahar’s FAQ says native iOS support is not planned for the foreseeable future and points users to an iOS build of the original Citra instead. Android requires version 10.0 or later on a 64-bit device. A per-game compatibility tracker provides reports, though the FAQ warns that these may be outdated. The mobile app privacy policy says registration is not required and the app does not collect information. Azahar states that it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo.

AzaharPlus

AzaharPlus is a free, open-source 3DS emulator fork for Android, Linux, and Windows. Its project says game files that work with any Citra fork also work here, and it can obtain system files from official servers without a physical 3DS. The software supports older CPUs that do not require SSE4.2, and includes cheats, Amiibo generation, and improved multiplayer compatibility with other Citra forks. ZipPass uses zip files to import and export StreetPass data for simulated tags. On Android, users can choose a Replace flavor that takes the place of Azahar or a Coexist flavor that runs alongside it. Android support starts at version 9.0, 64-bit; listed minimums also include a Snapdragon 835 or better and 2 GB of RAM. Desktop minimums include 64-bit Windows 10 or modern 64-bit Linux, 2 GB of RAM, and OpenGL 4.3 or Vulkan 1.1. ZipPass needs system files, enabled LLE modules, and StreetPass enabled in games, and is usable only when a game is not running. The project labels it experimental. Downloads are available through GitHub Releases.
