In their own words
Backdrop
Backdrop is an iPhone app that generates wallpapers from descriptions and optional photo references, with compositions arranged to leave space for the clock, widgets, and icons. Users can request an image when needed or receive a personalized wallpaper each morning. Apple Shortcuts can apply a new daily wallpaper without opening the app. Anyone can browse and save global wallpapers; new accounts receive three creation credits. The free plan costs nothing. Backdrop Pro costs $3.99 a month, billed monthly, and includes a personalized daily wallpaper, 15 monthly creation credits, visual references, feedback, and remixes. The app requires iOS 17.0 or later. Backdrop says the photo picker accesses only the selected image and does not upload or collect other library photos; it also says reference photos are not stored. The service uses OpenRouter and OpenAI for AI-assisted text and image generation. Backdrop says it does not sell personal information or show third-party ads. Account deletion removes the active profile, generated images and records, prompts, and related generation records.
Stoplight Prism
Stoplight Prism is a free, open-source command-line HTTP server for turning OpenAPI documents or Postman Collections into working API endpoints. It can create mock servers so frontend and backend teams can exercise an API before the backend exists. Prism validates request and response data against the API description, generates dynamic random examples, and supports OpenAPI v3.0 callbacks that send payloads to URLs. Its proxy mode compares a target API with an OpenAPI document and identifies discrepancies, helping with pre-production consistency checks. The project lists OpenAPI 3.1, 3.0, and 2.0 support alongside Postman Collections. Prism runs standalone or in continuous integration, with installation through npm, standalone binaries, Docker, or Docker Compose. The listed runtime requirement is Node.js >= 18.20.1, or >= 18.16 for Node.js 18.x. Hosted Prism-powered mock servers are available through Stoplight Platform and Stoplight Studio. The project uses the Apache-2.0 license.
