In their own words
Backdrop
Backdrop is a web tool that removes backgrounds from product photos for marketplace listings. It is aimed at online sellers, including apparel and other product catalogs, and lists Amazon FBA, eBay, Shopify, WooCommerce, and Poshmark as seller destinations. JPG, PNG, and WEBP files can be uploaded in batches of up to 500 images. The site says processing takes about two seconds per image. Finished images can be downloaded together as a ZIP while retaining original filenames. The free plan provides 25 images per month, white and transparent backgrounds, and ZIP downloads without requiring a credit card. Paid plans add custom-color backgrounds and 30-day job history. Starter costs $19 a month for 1,000 images; Pro costs $39 a month for 5,000 with priority processing; Max costs $79 a month for 50,000 with priority processing and dedicated support.
unbagrnd
unbagrnd removes photo backgrounds with on-device AI, processing images locally in its desktop app with ONNX Runtime. It can handle a single image or a folder, with live before-and-after previews as processing completes. Users can pick from several models to balance speed and accuracy; the default is 43 MB. Brush tools erase or restore subject areas, with undo and redo, and users can add a solid-color background or an on-device drop shadow. The app predicts a foreground mask on the CPU, combines it with the original pixels, and saves the result as PNG. The maker says the only network request is a one-time model download, with no analytics, update checks, or telemetry. unbagrnd is free and open source under the MIT license, with no API keys, paid tiers, or usage limits. A self-hosted, Docker-capable REST API supports single-image and batch processing. Its documented defaults allow 20 MB per image, batches of up to 10, and 60 requests per minute per API key. It supports Android, Linux, macOS, Windows, and self-hosted use.
