In their own words
Bandicam
Bandicam is recording software for capturing screens, gameplay, webcam video, and audio. It can record computer sound and microphone input, capture multiple monitors, and save audio-only recordings as MP3 or WAV. Game recording supports DirectX, OpenGL, and Vulkan games; video sources can also include smartphones, consoles, webcams, and other external devices. Its webcam recorder can capture online meetings such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. AI tools can transcribe recordings, remove webcam backgrounds, and zoom automatically; transcription can produce text for subtitles, notes, and scripts. The listed platforms include Linux, macOS, web, and Windows, while product information specifically identifies screen recorder products for Windows and Mac. A free download is available, but registration removes the watermark and recording limit. Paid plans advertise no recording time limit and no watermark. Personal Annual costs $33.26 a year, and Personal Perpetual costs $53.90, paid once. Commercial use with an invoice requires a Business License; personal licensing is for non-commercial use without an invoice.
Vice
Vice is a free Linux game clipper for saving recent gameplay, recording full sessions, editing clips, and sharing them through public links. Instant replay captures recent action, while double-tapping F9 starts a full recording session. Its multi-mode recording uses GPU encoding through NVENC or VAAPI, and the maker says typical CPU use is below one percent. Shared clips can play inline in Discord without an upload step; clip links are also described for Steam, Telegram, and Slack. A built-in multi-track editor handles video and audio tracks, transitions, and text overlays. Vice can identify known games, name clips, sort them into matching playlists, and update Discord Rich Presence for recognized games. It requires no account, says it has no telemetry, and is licensed under GPL-3.0. The Free plan costs nothing and has no Vice file-size limit.
