BarBooks

BarBooks is cloud-based legal practice management software for barristers, sole practitioners, and clerks. It runs on Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, and the web. Users can organise matter details, link contacts to matters, and set hourly or fixed fees. Invoicing tools create and customise invoices, apply interest to late payments automatically, and report on aged receivables. Listed reports cover profit and loss, GST statements, year-end tax, aged debtors, turnover, work in progress, cashflow, and activity statements. BarBooks can sync barristers’ calendars and make its calendar accessible through existing calendars and mobile apps. Bank transaction syncing and reconciliation are available through the Bank Rec add-on, listed at A$12 a month. The Sole Practitioner plan is listed at A$60 a month, with tax excluded; BAS Service is listed at A$99 a quarter. A 14-day trial includes all features. After it ends, users must buy a continuing licence or stop using and uninstall the software.

Orion ePay

Orion ePay is an online payment solution for law firms using Orion software. Firms can email invoices with secure payment links or process client payments and trust deposits through Orion’s AR Manager. The product provides a firm-branded payment page and supports PayPal, Venmo and PayPal Pay Later, as well as card and ACH payments. Listed capabilities also include payment plans, a client payment portal, trust account support and reconciliation tools. Orion presents ePay as integrated with its billing and financial management modules, with processing connected to ePrebill Manager. The product page lists next-day funding, and Orion says firms can start accepting payments within a day by beginning the application process inside Orion. Its January 2026 article describes bank-grade security, PCI compliance and built-in trust account handling. Pricing requires contacting Orion; a brochure says there are no monthly fees or contracts, but does not state transaction rates. Orion provides a knowledge base with product answers, tutorials and video learning, and accepts support requests by form or email. The product is available on Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows.
