In their own words
Batfish
Batfish is an open-source tool for analyzing network device configurations and validating network behavior. It works from configuration files, so core analysis does not require direct access to network devices. Teams can inspect deployed configurations and check planned changes before deployment. Checks cover undefined references, MTU and AAA settings, template compliance, sensitive-service reachability and expected traffic paths. Batfish can test whether end-to-end reachability survives any single-link or single-device failure, compare current and planned reachability, assess ACL or firewall changes and evaluate functional equivalence across vendors. Pybatfish provides a Python 3 SDK, and example Jupyter notebooks are available. An all-in-one Docker container bundles Batfish and notebooks. It runs on operating systems supporting Docker. Documented support includes Arista, AWS, Azure, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks and SONiC, while Aruba, Dell Force10 and Foundry have limited support.
Itential Automation Platform
Itential Automation Platform helps enterprise infrastructure teams build, govern, and operate AI agents and workflows that act on production systems. Role-based FlowAgents and stateful workflows support retries and rollback, while reusable configuration standards and drift detection address infrastructure changes. Role-based access controls, approval gates, audit trails, and rollback govern actions by people, workflows, and agents. Itential lists more than 1,000 open-source integrations and connectivity through REST APIs, MCP, CLI, SSH, NETCONF, and RESTCONF. Deployment can be SaaS, self-managed on-premises, or hybrid. Identity features include SAML and OpenID Connect SSO, enforced multifactor authentication, SCIM or directory sync, RBAC, and GBAC. The managed SaaS offering has SOC 2 Type II certification; the Trust Center describes TLS 1.2 with SHA-256 certificates in transit and encryption at rest. Pricing is on request and based on automation scale rather than device, node, or user count. There is no free plan.
