Jupiter

Jupiter is an open-source Learning Record Store (LRS) for collecting learning activity data using the xAPI and Caliper specifications. Its repository ingests Experience API and Caliper API payloads, and the maker describes it as scalable and fault tolerant. Jupiter includes Metis, an open-source interface for constructing queries and reviewing metrics. Metis presents results as tables or visualizations, exports them in multiple formats, and monitors cluster health with notices about network or hardware failures. The software can be self-hosted. Transcordia also offers Jove, a hosted LRS built on Amazon Web Services and powered by Jupiter; the maker says it can handle tens of thousands of learning events per second. Jove costs nothing for up to 1 million events per year. Above that allowance, the listed price is $1 a month for each 10,000 events per month. The repository identifies an MIT license, and the maker welcomes coding contributions and pull requests. Its stated audience includes educational institutions and research organizations.
