In their own words
Beamable
Beamable is a game server platform for creating and operating online games and virtual worlds. Its engine-native SDKs for Unity and Unreal connect to a serverless backend for cloud code, data persistence, custom gameplay logic, and Mongo-based persistence. The SDK includes player accounts, multiplayer networking, matchmaking, offers, currencies, inventory, leaderboards, groups, achievements, chat, tournaments, and multiplayer events. The LiveOps Portal supports events, promotions, content updates, A/B tests, player support, CRM, and messaging. Beamable describes built-in analytics and event forwarding integrations with GameAnalytics, Mixpanel, and Amplitude; its marketplace lists services including Edgegap, Photon Fusion, Tebex, and blockchain integrations. Studios can use managed SaaS or private cloud, both powered by AWS. Private Cloud offers dedicated single-tenant infrastructure. A 90-day free trial includes 12.5M API calls, 1,000 MAU, and three microservices. Paid monthly plans start at $125 a month for Developer. Pricing specifies a 10KB bandwidth allowance per API call, with additional bandwidth billed as overage.
Snapser
Snapser is a backend platform for games and apps, built around modular services called Snaps. Listed Snaps cover authentication, analytics, chat, matchmaking, game server fleets, leaderboards, inventory, storage, and social features. Developers can package custom services written in any language as private Snaps using the Snapser CLI. The platform describes dedicated Kubernetes clusters with autoscaling, load balancing, and high availability, plus monitoring, logs, APIs, configuration, and operational tools for deployed backends. Its snapctl CLI can publish services and game servers and generate and download SDKs. Documented integrations and starter projects include Unity, Unreal Engine, Discord, Roblox, React, and React Native. Enterprise teams can host an instance in their own cloud provider account, such as AWS. The Premium plan is $4,999 a month per project plus usage, with production usage billed separately; it lists unlimited seats, 25 custom clusters, and a 99.98% production uptime guarantee. A Starter Tier trial lasts 14 days with no monthly platform fee during the trial.
