In their own words

Bedrock Data Security Platform

Bedrock Data Security Platform is a data security, governance, and management product built around discovery and classification. Its Metadata Lake combines more than 50 kinds of metadata, including sensitivity, usage, access, residency, and vulnerabilities, for contextual risk analysis. It scans SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments continuously and uses AI to classify data such as PII, PHI, financial information, and intellectual property. Content-aware fingerprints help trace data through movement, copying, or transformation, while entitlement analysis maps access chains across users, service accounts, roles, and platforms to identify exposure. For AI governance, it maps Snowflake Cortex agents to accessible data and supplies Agent Cards summarizing their data access. A Graph API exposes Metadata Lake context for automation and integrations. Bedrock says scanning, classification, and analysis happen in the customer environment; metadata is sent to its SaaS service, while customer data is not stored in the Metadata Lake. The free Snowflake plan is limited to weekly scans and omits capabilities including API access and entitlement analysis.
