Documentation depthThe documentation site includes quickstarts, protocol guides, API reference, CI/CD guidance, security, governance and troubleshooting material. The documentation is organized into getting started, simulations, resilient backends, developer tools, settings, billing and help sections.
Self-hostingAn on-premises edition runs as Docker-packaged services on a single host, supports optional Kubernetes scaling and can operate air-gapped.Self-hosted backends are supplied as container images for Docker, Compose or Kubernetes and can run inside a private network.
SupportPaid Individual and Team plans include chat and email support, while Scale includes chat and priority email support. The help documentation says support issues can be opened from a workspace and that contact-form questions receive an email reply.
What it doesBeeceptor provides browser-based mock servers and API service virtualization for testing, traffic inspection, integration debugging and controlled failure simulation.Mockzilla converts OpenAPI specifications or plain JSON files into hosted mock APIs with shareable URLs.

In their own words

Beeceptor

Beeceptor is a developer-focused API simulation platform for mocking services, virtualizing them, testing contracts, and simulating failures. It supports HTTP, HTTPS, HTTP/2, mTLS, REST/OpenAPI, SOAP, GraphQL, and gRPC. Users can build no-code mocks with request-matching rules and set response status codes, headers, and bodies. Uploading an OpenAPI specification can create a populated mock server with AI-generated data. Beeceptor can proxy requests to live backends, record traffic, and switch to mock behavior when a backend is unavailable. Latency, timeouts, and errors can be simulated to check client resilience. Its CLI exposes a localhost service through a public HTTPS URL and runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Management APIs support mock-server configuration, while MCP connectivity supports AI agents including Claude and Cursor. API Connections store OAuth credentials and generate tokens for outbound requests. Beeceptor says it is SOC 2 Type II audited, adheres to ISO 27001, and complies with GDPR; it also says data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The free plan has public endpoints, a 1 MB request payload limit, and cleanup rules for unclaimed endpoints.

Mockzilla

Mockzilla turns OpenAPI specifications or plain JSON files into hosted mock APIs for frontend work, integration tests, and demos. It generates responses from OpenAPI schemas and can validate requests against the specification. Users can inject latency or errors at service or endpoint level to exercise retry and fallback behavior. A proxy can forward requests to a real backend while supplying mock responses for routes that backend does not serve. Its GitHub Action creates a mock URL for each pull request, updates it on pushes, and cleans it up when the branch is gone. Mockzilla records request status and timing, and supports replaying individual requests or sets of requests. The CLI is MIT-licensed, works offline, and can run on a laptop or in CI; hosted cloud features are optional. The site also lists a GitHub Action and MCP server, with CLI setup instructions for Claude and Gemini. The Free plan is free, but API access is unavailable and request history lasts two hours. Hobby costs $10 a month. Uploaded content must not contain personally identifiable information, real financial data, health records, credentials, or other sensitive data.
