In their own words
Beeminder
Beeminder tracks graphable goals and can charge you if your progress crosses the Bright Red Line. You can report data when prompted or connect a device or service to send it automatically; the line marks your path toward a goal, with data smoothing described for goals such as weight loss. Examples include fitness, health, productivity, finance and learning. Core includes dozens of automatic-data integrations, along with IFTTT, Zapier and custom API integration; Fitbit and RescueTime are examples. API endpoints require authentication, and client OAuth supports applications accessing an account on the user’s behalf. Core costs nothing and limits the number of goals, while Infinibee costs $8 a month and includes unlimited goals, exotic goal types and an auto-canceling subscription. Bee Plus costs $16 a month, and Beemium costs $81 a month, each with additional plan features. A payment method is required to create goals, but staying on track can avoid charges. Yearly payment gives 14% off. Beeminder is available on Android, iOS and the web, with API access.
SmartProgress
SmartProgress is a service for planning goals, recording progress, following other people's goals, and getting support from coaches. Its planning uses the SMART method, with fields for accomplishment criteria, steps, and time frames. Users can publish diary updates and receive comments or advice. Habit goals require regular marks; missing a day counts as a failure, which Pro members can cancel. Team members can add diary posts and steps, update statuses, and manage dates, but cannot delete the goal. Expert templates provide step-by-step instructions and guidance, while the service says it reminds users about unaccomplished goals. Coach-led group programs let participants track goals in diaries, receive feedback, and share experience and knowledge. SmartProgress is available on Android, iOS, and the web, with Russian, English, Ukrainian, and Spanish navigation. A free account costs nothing and allows two goals in progress, with the limit increasing with experience and level, plus teams of up to five people. Pro costs $28.15 a year. Special projects cost 3,900 RUB a month, with free access for applicants meeting listed audience or charitable-goal criteria.
