In their own words
BeFunky
BeFunky combines photo editing, collage making, and graphic design in tools for web, Android, and iOS. Its Photo Editor covers cropping, resizing, touch-ups, effects, frames, enhancement, digital art effects, batch editing, and watermarks. AI tools can remove backgrounds, erase objects, upscale images, replace skies, deblur photos, and restore old pictures. The Collage Maker includes layouts, patterns, text editing, and customizable graphics. For design work, templates and makers cover invitations, banners, cards, social media graphics, flyers, posters, brochures, business cards, infographics, and postcards. BeFunky says its design platform includes more than one million free stock photos. Users can start without paying or making an account, with more than 100 digital effects available. The free plan includes basic editing and export without a subscription, with limited templates and assets. BeFunky Plus costs $6.99 a month, billed $83.88 annually. Some web features and processing-heavy tools, including batch tools, may be unavailable in the mobile app.
Showfoto
Showfoto is a stand-alone version of the digiKam Image Editor for editing and processing local image files. Its tools cover colors, effects, transforms, decoration, enhancement and RAW import, with support for masking and batch editing. The Folders tab navigates directory hierarchies and loads images from local storage. Showfoto can process batches, although it does not include digiKam’s Batch Queue Manager. Compatible plugins include Time Adjust, Print Wizard, Metadata Editor and HTML Gallery, and web-service tools can export items to services such as Flickr or Google. A stand-alone DNG Converter can convert proprietary RAW containers to Digital Negative format. Showfoto is free and available for Linux, Windows and macOS; listed packages include Linux AppImage, Windows 10 or later, and macOS builds for Apple Silicon and Intel. It has no database, so it does not support image versioning. The digiKam project says photos, metadata and settings remain on the device, with no tracking, analytics or telemetry. It also says its AI tools run locally.
