In their own words
BenchCanvas
BenchCanvas is a visual benchmarking tool for digital products that maps website journeys onto a canvas. It captures screens in a flow and connects them along the site's navigation path; its crawler captures direct links from a page and is described as working well on most websites. A Chrome extension can record private flows behind a login. Users can place multiple flows on one canvas to compare URLs side by side, add sticky notes, comment on screens, and insert images by dragging, dropping, or pasting. Shared links let teammates or clients edit the canvas. AI can generate UX analysis and answer questions about screens or journeys. Cursor or Claude can use MCP to read flows, screens, comments, and notes; an example workflow organizes open comments into a task list. Canvases export as high-resolution PNG or PDF images. BenchCanvas runs on the web and as a Chrome extension. Its Free plan is presented for exploring the product during private beta; Pro and Team have pricing marked Coming soon.
Cairn
Cairn is a macOS desktop app for mapping screens, data, roles, and CRUD operations before building a product. Users sketch low-fidelity pages, modals, and sheets, then connect them into scenarios with triggers and dependencies across roles. Cairn checks whether data used on a screen was created earlier in its causal flow and flags missing data. Its Fields and Journeys views show where data appears and how each role moves through a flow. The app works offline and saves projects as portable.cairn files on the user's Mac. The maker says Cairn has no accounts or telemetry and does not upload project files; it connects to the internet for update checks and Pro license validation. Cairn is positioned as a complement to Figma for later visual design. The free plan costs nothing and includes one project and up to two scenarios, but does not allow file import or export. Real-time collaboration is not available, and Cairn is not intended for pixel-perfect or high-fidelity design.
