In their own words
Berify
Berify is a web service for finding online appearances of images, including possible unauthorized uses. It searches an index of over 800 million images and queries Google, Bing, Yandex, and TinEye. Its matching system looks for exact results and visually similar versions, including images that have been cropped, filtered, resized, or compressed. For video searches, Berify extracts key frames and searches those images across the same services. A free tier provides basic reverse image search; paid plans add automatic monitoring and priority processing. The 1,000 Images plan is $5.95 per month, and the 6,000 Images plan is $24.95 per month. Business costs $49.99 per month and includes API access, batch CSV search, up to five team seats, forensic PDF reports, and dedicated support with an SLA. Its reports can include source URLs, discovery dates, and visual similarity scores. Berify says uploaded images are temporarily stored for processing, then deleted, and are not added to a public database or shared with third parties. Unused searches do not roll over between monthly billing dates.
trace.moe
trace.moe searches anime scenes from screenshots and can identify a title, episode, and timestamp, then show a short preview to help confirm a match. It is for finding a scene rather than watching anime; access to the original video is limited to a few seconds. The search compares image colors and patterns using content-based retrieval, so it is designed for close matches rather than heavily altered screenshots. Crops, flips, rotations, strong filters, dark scenes, large text, and low-detail images can cause searches to fail; the FAQ recommends images at least 320×180 pixels. Its index covers officially published TV, web, DVD, and Blu-ray anime, with most Japanese anime since 2000 represented, though coverage is incomplete for some series. The service is available on the web, through an API, and as official screenshot-search extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Opera. Other official tools include a Telegram bot and an MCP server. Uploaded search images are deleted immediately according to the terms. The free service has no ads and is funded by donations; GitHub Sponsors plans offer daily API quotas and varying search priority.
