In their own words
Berrycast
Berrycast records and shares screen and webcam videos for work. Recording plans include screen capture, webcam recording, video uploads, and unlimited recording length. Capture is supported on Windows and macOS, with a Chrome extension also listed. It can record webcam video, system audio, and microphone audio. Users can share videos by email or social channels, embed them, and protect them with a password. The feature comparison also lists video editing, timed comments, and comments that viewers can leave without an account. The Chrome plugin supports sharing video messages through Gmail, G Suite, Office 365, Teams, Slack, and Asana. Professional includes limited transcription and AI Writer; Enterprise lists unlimited use of both, along with video analytics and Collaborative Spaces. Its healthcare information says recordings are encrypted at rest and in transit, and lists access controls including link expiry, revocation, and audit logging. The maker says it signs a Business Associate Agreement with covered entities before protected health information is recorded.
Volley
Volley is a video messaging app for people who want conversations to continue without requiring everyone to respond at the same time. Participants take turns sending video or audio volleys, screen recordings, text, images, documents, files and GIFs. Video, voice and screen-recording messages are automatically transcribed. Spaces arrange conversations into channels and direct messages, which can be threaded; users can also react, forward volleys, mark them for follow-up and share public links. Apps are available for Android, iOS, Mac and PC, and Volley also works in a browser. Its free Basic plan includes unlimited direct messages and connections, recordings up to 3 minutes, 30-day message history, Basic Spaces for up to 10 members and a 50 MB file limit. Pro Account costs $10 a month and includes 10-minute recordings, one-year history and 250 MB uploads. Premium Space plans cost $25 a month for 10 members, $50 a month for 25, $100 a month for 100, or $250 a month for 500. The company says it collects device and usage information, including IP address and in-app activity.
