In their own words

Bit

Bit organizes source code as reusable components that developers can assemble into applications. Components, pages, and features can be composed into app shells, while Hope AI generates component boilerplate, tests, and documentation. A built-in MCP server supports workflows with Cursor or GitHub Copilot for creating and reusing components. Bit says it works with standard JavaScript tools and provides starters for Node.js, React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, Stencil, Lit, React Native, and plain HTML. Remote component scopes can be hosted free on bit.cloud or self-hosted. Its visual review process works alongside GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket review. Bit Cloud describes deploying connected frontends and services with a database, domain, and SSL; each app receives managed MongoDB with separate production and preview databases. Cloud features include approvals, permissions, policies, and audit trails. Bit is available through web, Android, iOS, API, and self-hosted options. The Bit / Open Source plan is free.

Fenly

Fenly is a free cloud SaaS platform for design system management, available on the web and as an extension. Tokens Hub syncs and visualizes design tokens from Figma, while Components Library displays Figma components and variants. Teams can create documentation, design principles, accessibility guidelines, and brand guidelines, then export tokens as CSS custom properties, Tailwind config, or JSON. Fenly connects through Figma’s REST and plugin APIs and reads connected files without writing to them. AI Companion and Talk to your DS use Anthropic’s Claude with design-system context. Talk to your DS can be shared as a public chat for visitors without logins, with password or domain restrictions available. Sign-in supports email and password, Google OAuth, or email one-time passcodes through Clerk. Fenly reports HTTPS/TLS in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest, but no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification. AI messages and context are sent to Anthropic, while conversation history is not permanently stored in Fenly’s database.
