In their own words
Bit
Bit organizes source code as reusable components that developers can assemble into applications. Components, pages, and features can be composed into app shells, while Hope AI generates component boilerplate, tests, and documentation. A built-in MCP server supports workflows with Cursor or GitHub Copilot for creating and reusing components. Bit says it works with standard JavaScript tools and provides starters for Node.js, React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, Stencil, Lit, React Native, and plain HTML. Remote component scopes can be hosted free on bit.cloud or self-hosted. Its visual review process works alongside GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket review. Bit Cloud describes deploying connected frontends and services with a database, domain, and SSL; each app receives managed MongoDB with separate production and preview databases. Cloud features include approvals, permissions, policies, and audit trails. Bit is available through web, Android, iOS, API, and self-hosted options. The Bit / Open Source plan is free.
Supernova
Supernova brings design system information, code data, documentation, and AI context together as a shared source for teams and agents. It tracks component health, manages design tokens, and supports multiple brands in one workspace. Its documentation editor supports real-time collaboration, page history, and publishing. Through MCP, it provides filtered design system context to AI tools including Cursor, Copilot, and Claude Code.
Code automation can export tokens and open a pull request when design system changes are made. Listed integrations include Figma, Storybook, Tokens Studio, GitHub, Azure, Bitbucket, GitLab, and VS Code; pre-built integrations are included in the Free plan. The Free plan supports up to five seats and limits documentation pages, connected data sources, page history, and analytics periods. Pro costs $35 a month per editor seat. Supernova Portal is available on the web, and its desktop app is currently available only for Mac.
