Overview

Biyo POS brings store sales, inventory, and restaurant operations into one system, with tools for online ordering and multiple locations. It is most compelling for operators who need those capabilities together; its per-terminal paid plans may be a poor fit for a business seeking one flat software fee.

Retail, eCommerce, restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, bars, and kiosks are among the business types Biyo names. Offline mode is a practical safeguard for businesses that cannot pause checkout during an internet outage, though the free plan’s US-only eligibility and processing fees are important constraints.

Key features

Inventory and multiple locations

The Inventory Scanner app supports stocktakes and stock checks across stores, while multi-location tools centralize control and inventory management. That combination suits operators coordinating stock across sites. Employee permissions add a way to manage staff access, but the feature list does not establish how finely permissions can be configured.

Restaurant operations

Tableside ordering, table status tracking, reservations, and a digital floor plan address both service and table coordination. These tools make Biyo relevant to restaurants as well as retailers, although businesses should weigh the per-terminal pricing against the number of terminals they need.

Sales, reporting, and integrations

Biyo offers online ordering and reporting on revenue, costs, and margins, including comparisons across locations or time periods. Its WooCommerce integration syncs inventory and orders in real time, unifies the product catalog, and combines online and in-store reporting. This is a useful fit for merchants running both channels; the integration’s value depends on whether WooCommerce is part of their operation.

Offline use, hardware, and data

Biyo says offline mode lets businesses continue processing transactions without internet connectivity, and it lists offline payments. Merchants can use their own hardware; supported devices include Windows, Linux, Chrome, iOS, and OS X. Data transferred over the internet is encrypted with TLS (HTTPS), and Biyo hosts data with Amazon Web Services in Germany. Live chat is advertised for all customers, while phone support is included with Premium.

Pricing

Biyo offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, followed by a choice of a free plan for eligible businesses or paid plans priced per terminal. The trial gives operators a short period to assess the system before committing.

Premium + Processing: 0.00 USD per free, billed free plus processing fees, for US businesses only. This is the entry point for eligible US operators willing to pay processing fees; it is not an option for businesses outside the US.
Standard: 47.00 USD per month, billed $47/month per terminal. It includes all features, all integrations, 24/7 online support, and other card processing providers. It suits businesses that need the full feature set and online support but not Premium’s phone support.
Premium: 97.00 USD per month, billed $97/month per terminal. It includes all features, all integrations, 24/7 online and phone support, and other card processing providers. The higher price is most defensible for operators who need phone support; both paid plans charge per terminal.

The free option’s processing fees and US-only restriction narrow its appeal. Standard gives up phone support, while both paid plans retain the same per-terminal billing model.

Platforms

Biyo POS is listed for Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. Its hardware guidance also names Chrome devices and OS X, so businesses using their own equipment have several supported environments to consider.

Who it's for

Biyo is a strong candidate for retailers and restaurants that need inventory, staff permissions, online ordering, or centralized management across locations, particularly when restaurant floor tools or WooCommerce syncing are relevant. A single-location business with one terminal may find the free plan attractive if it operates in the US and accepts processing fees. Businesses outside the US, those needing phone support, and operators with multiple terminals should compare the plan terms carefully before choosing it.

Pros and cons

Pros: One product covers store and restaurant operations, including tableside ordering and a digital floor plan, so mixed or restaurant-focused businesses can use a broader set of tools.
Pros: Inventory scanning, centralized multi-location controls, and cross-location reporting address the practical demands of managing stock and sales across sites.
Pros: Offline transaction processing and support for merchants’ own hardware can help businesses keep operating through connectivity problems or use devices they already have.
Cons: The free plan is limited to US businesses and charges processing fees, so it is not a universally free route.
Cons: Paid pricing is per terminal, which can make the monthly commitment grow with the number of checkout points.
Cons: Phone support is reserved for the $97/month-per-terminal Premium plan; Standard includes online support only.

Alternatives

For a different POS option, compare Point-of-Sale Software; food truck operators can also browse Food Truck POS Software.

Loyverse is worth considering if a free POS plan and broader sales-history access are priorities: its Unlimited sales history plan costs 5.00 USD per month per store, while Biyo’s paid plans are priced per terminal.
HunoMenu is another freemium option with a free plan and trial, but the available product details do not support a closer feature comparison.
CartFlow may suit event-focused sellers who can work within its free-plan quotas, including 3 events and 10 products per month; Biyo instead addresses broader store and restaurant operations.
Paloma365 is a paid alternative whose Startup plan costs 23.00 USD per month and includes one location, one workstation, and unlimited users and printers. Its stated workstation limit may appeal to a small operation comparing fixed plan pricing with Biyo’s per-terminal charges.
SOMENU POS is a paid alternative with a one-time annual-fee plan and multi-device sync, KOT, and tables; consider it if those terms and restaurant functions better suit your needs.
SpotOn Restaurant offers a free All-In Plan with processing minimums and a two-year minimum term, including POS software and hardware, ordering, payments, table layouts, menu management, and reporting. It may suit a restaurant comparing a bundled hardware-and-software offer, provided the term and processing minimums work.
Zeller is free to download and run with no monthly subscription or software licence fee, but requires a Zeller Terminal and charges transaction fees. It is a relevant comparison for readers who prioritize avoiding a monthly software fee.
FuegoPOS has a free Starter plan with processing fees, cloud menu management, an employee module, split payments, and offline mode; it is another freemium option to compare for those specific needs.

Verdict

Choose Biyo POS if your store or restaurant needs inventory and multi-location controls alongside sales tools, and its offline operation or restaurant features solve real operational needs. Its free, processing-fee plan can lower the entry barrier for US businesses, but eligibility, per-terminal paid pricing, and the Premium-only phone support are reasons to look elsewhere if they do not fit your operation.
