Overview

BlackVue FLEETA combines dashcam footage with vehicle tracking and fleet administration. It suits operators who want remote video access alongside GPS visibility and can equip vehicles with compatible BlackVue cameras and an LTE module.

The trade-off is fundamental: FLEETA is not an ELD-compliance product and is intended for fleets exempt from ELD mandates. It is a poor fit if compliance logging is a requirement.

Key features

Live monitoring and tracking

Real-time GPS, map access to camera feeds, geofences, and live alerts put location and video in the same workflow. HD remote viewing includes a matrix layout for as many as 64 vehicles on one screen, useful for watching a group rather than opening each vehicle separately. Remote viewing time is sharply limited on the lower plans, however, so the breadth of the monitoring tools does not mean every subscription supports continuous use.

Video review and safety

Recorded video can be retrieved remotely from cloud storage or the camera’s local storage, making incident review less dependent on bringing a vehicle back. Cloud storage and event-upload windows rise with plan level. Cameras detect behaviors such as drowsiness, distraction, and seatbelt violations and alert drivers in real time; FLEETA also supports driver coaching.

Fleet administration and integrations

Remote firmware updates, multi-location grouping, and granular permissions make the platform more useful than a camera viewer alone, particularly for fleets with several operating locations. The REST API, webhooks, and MCP connections for ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor extend it into custom workflows; n8n, Zapier, and Make are also named for no-code automation. API scopes are tied to the subscription, MCP write actions require human approval, and webhooks use HMAC signatures with retries and a dead-letter queue. ECU or OBD integration is not required, but compatible BlackVue hardware and an LTE module are.

Pricing

FLEETA has a free plan and a 14-day trial. Prices below are monthly as billed; the free tier has no subscription charge, while paid plans start at $3/month. The listed general video-retention figure is 7 days, but plan-specific event-upload windows differ.

Plan	Price	Limits and inclusions
FREE	0.00 USD per month	1 cloud camera, 1 user, 2-day event uploads, 30 minutes/month remote live view, 5 GB cloud storage
STARTER	3.00 USD per month	1 cloud camera, 1 user, 7-day event uploads, 60 minutes/month remote live view, 5 GB per camera
STANDARD	7.00 USD per month	Up to 10 cloud cameras, 1 user, 30-day event uploads, unlimited remote live view and playback, 10 GB per camera
PRO	8.00 USD per month	Up to 99 cloud cameras, up to 10 admins and 5 drivers per camera, 30-day event uploads, 25 GB per camera, 4-channel multi-live view
ENTERPRISE	12.00 USD per month	Up to 999 cloud cameras, unlimited admins and drivers, 90-day event uploads, 50 GB per camera, 64-channel dual-monitor live view
CUSTOM	Custom pricing	For fleets with more than 999 vehicles

FREE is a sensible single-camera trial of the workflow, but one user, 2-day uploads, and half an hour of monthly live view make it too constrained for routine fleet monitoring. STARTER mainly buys longer event access and another half-hour of live viewing; it still permits only one camera and one user. STANDARD is the first tier with multiple cameras and unlimited live view and playback, though it remains limited to one user. PRO is a modest price step above STANDARD for fleets needing more cameras, multiple administrators and drivers, and multi-channel viewing; ENTERPRISE expands that capacity and retention substantially. CUSTOM is the route beyond 999 vehicles.

Platforms

FLEETA supports Android, iOS, web, and API access. The hardware requirement makes its platform coverage relevant chiefly to fleets prepared to standardize on compatible BlackVue dashcams and LTE modules.

Who it's for

FLEETA is best suited to fleets that value video-backed visibility, driver-safety alerts, and remote incident review, especially where teams want camera and GPS tools under one subscription. Its no-OBD requirement may simplify hardware integration for those fleets. It is not the right choice for operators that need ELD compliance, want camera-agnostic hardware, or need several users on a low-cost plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: GPS tracking, geofences, live video, and remote playback bring location checks and incident review together.
Pro: The plan ladder scales from a free single camera to 999 cameras, with longer event-upload windows and more storage at higher tiers.
Pro: API and automation options include security controls such as scoped access, human approval for MCP write actions, and signed webhooks.
Con: Compatible BlackVue cameras and an LTE module are required, so fleets cannot treat FLEETA as a software-only purchase.
Con: The free and Starter plans are limited to one camera and one user, and allow only 30 or 60 minutes of remote live view per month.
Con: FLEETA does not provide ELD compliance, ruling it out for fleets that need that capability.

Alternatives

For a broader category comparison, see Fleet Dash Camera Software. FleetCam is worth considering if a fleet wants a paid offering priced around fleet size, deployed products, and contract terms, with a demo and proposal rather than a published rate. FleetUp AI Dashcam is an option for a personalized solution, either standalone or integrated with the FleetUp platform.

VentraCloud suits buyers considering a service charged per system or vehicle rather than per user, with no minimum vehicle requirement; its service is commonly offered in six-month terms. 4eyez FleetMonitor is another paid fleet-monitoring option for buyers willing to request a demo or quote. Lytx DriveCam has no free plan and directs buyers to sales; fleet size and industry are needed for pricing, with an authorized reseller for fleets under 100.

Powerfleet VisionAI is an alternative for operations spanning light, medium, or heavy-duty vehicles and single- or dual-lens cameras. Trakm8 Fleet Video is priced at 18.99 GBP per month for 10–25 vehicles on a five-year contract, with camera configuration and price depending on requirements. Azuga is an alternative with a paid BasicFleet plan at 25.00 USD per month per vehicle, including tracking, driver scores and rewards, reports, geofencing, and two-minute location updates.

Verdict

Choose FLEETA if your fleet can use BlackVue hardware and needs location tracking tied closely to live and recorded dashcam video; its free entry point and scalable camera plans make that combination accessible. Look elsewhere if ELD compliance is essential, if hardware flexibility matters, or if one-user limits would constrain your day-to-day operation.
