In their own words
Blender
Blender is a free, open-source desktop suite for 3D creation on Linux, macOS and Windows. It covers modeling, sculpting, UV editing, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing, motion tracking, video editing and game asset creation. Modeling tools include modifiers, UV unwrapping and mesh editing; sculpting includes 20 brush types, multi-resolution work, dynamic topology and mirrored sculpting. Animation features include rigging, a pose editor, non-linear animation and forward and inverse kinematics. Users can draw in 2D in a 3D viewport and combine 2D and 3D work. The built-in Cycles renderer supports CPU and GPU rendering, real-time viewport previews, PBR shaders, HDR lighting and VR rendering. Blender also includes camera and object tracking with masking and live scene previews. Advanced users can customize the application and build tools or add-ons through its Python API. Blender is licensed under the GNU GPL and owned by its contributors. It can run without installation or an internet connection, including from a USB stick or desktop folder.
Genies Avatar SDK
Genies Avatar SDK lets developers add Genies avatar technology to standalone Unity projects on iOS, Android, and Windows. Avatars can be loaded from a user's Genies account, a local definition, or a default definition. The Avatar Editor framework and customization APIs let developers change and save avatar definitions, including wearables, body size, hair color, colors, and facial or body features. Users can browse inventory and save avatars to a profile. Progressive loading begins with a silhouette, then shows lower-resolution assets before the full-fidelity avatar. Developers can submit custom wearables through the Developer Portal UGC pipeline, and those items can be gifted to users. The SDK supports Unity 2022.3.62f2 or later, including Unity 6, and documents Cinemachine 3 support. It is free for developers and end users, including commercial projects. Developers and users currently need Genies accounts. Games may be reviewed for security and performance, and require approval before becoming available. The EULA prohibits using the SDK to train or fine-tune AI or machine-learning models.
