In their own words
Blockhammer
Blockhammer is a free voxel editor for building scenes from cubic blocks, available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Its modeling tools include layers, named objects, precise position and size controls, reversible effects, and undo. Painting works on block faces at sixteen times the blocks’ resolution and supports text, images, glass, metal, and glowing paint. Blockhammer imports and exports MagicaVoxel .vox files, and exports .glb, .obj, Minecraft .schem, and image or animation formats. Export destinations named by the maker include Unity, Unreal, Godot, Blender, Minecraft, and Teardown. The maker reports rendering a 113-million-block scene and testing scenes beyond one billion blocks. The editor autosaves every minute and can recover work after a crash. Scenes and files remain on the user's machine, and no account is required. Crash reports may include errors, recent activity, and graphics hardware details; reporting can be disabled. Optional AI texture generation is off by default and uses the image API configured with the user's own key. The software is in active development, so features may change.
VoxelDream
VoxelDream is a free macOS voxel-based 3D creation tool for building, editing, and exporting game-ready assets. Voxel Mode changes voxels directly, while World Mode arranges multiple assets with transforms, hierarchy, and editable pivots. Modeling tools cover freehand drawing, geometric shapes, stairs, selection, filling, painting, erasing, and color picking. Projects save as .voxproj files, preserving editable voxel sources for later work. The tool imports VVOX assets and PNG, JPEG, WebP, or BMP images, converting images into editable voxel content. Materials include solid-color voxels and Minecraft blocks. Exports include FBX for Unity, Unreal, Godot, Blender, and other workflows, Minecraft Add-On packages for supported Bedrock use, and PNG renders. Animation, texture painting, scene editing, and game-engine export are listed. It is free for personal and commercial use, subject to imported-source rights. Version v0.1.3-beta.1 has macOS arm64 and x86_64 builds.
