In their own words
Blockonomics
Blockonomics is a decentralized crypto payment gateway for merchants, alongside a blockchain explorer and self-custodial payment tools. It supports Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and USDT on ERC-20. For BTC and BCH, a wallet xPub generates a distinct payment address for each transaction; USDT is sent to the merchant’s supplied ERC-20 wallet address. Blockonomics says customer payments go straight to the merchant’s wallet and that it does not hold the funds. Merchants can connect through listed integrations including WHMCS, WordPress, PrestaShop, Telegram Shop Bot, and Invoice Ninja. The maker says some users can install plugins without coding, while custom integrations can use the REST API. API functions include address lookup, wallet and store management, payment tracking, payment buttons, and hosted checkout. The platform supports more than 150 fiat currencies and recurring payments. Accounts are free to create and do not require identity verification. The Merchants plan is free for the first 10 payments, then 1% on all payments; Bitcoin Address Lookup is also listed at free.
BTCPay Server
BTCPay Server is self-hosted, open-source software for processing cryptocurrency payments. It describes its service as free, with no subscriptions or transaction fees; payments go directly to merchant-controlled wallets rather than being held by a payment intermediary. Merchants can create invoices, receive payment notifications and export invoices for bookkeeping. Built-in tools include point of sale, tipping buttons, payment links and crowdfunding campaigns, alongside wallet management with hardware wallet support. The Greenfield REST API can connect commerce applications and automate BTCPay instances. Listed checkout options include hosted invoice checkout, payment requests, HTML buttons, e-commerce plugins, point of sale and custom API integrations. Integrations include platforms such as WooCommerce, Shopify, Drupal, Magento and PrestaShop. For on-chain transactions using an existing wallet, public wallet information is used rather than the master private key. Third-party hosted accounts may lack Lightning by default, wallet rescanning and server settings access. It supports web, Linux, self-hosting and API use.
