Overview

BloomKidz brings enrolment, attendance, billing and lesson planning together with observations, learning journeys and development reports. That range makes it a candidate for nurseries looking to consolidate daily operations and child records rather than adopt a tool for just one job. The maker says the product was built by nursery operators and that setup takes 15–20 minutes.

One account can cover unlimited rooms, nursery groups and sites. Granular permissions let site managers see only what they need, while unlimited staff users avoid a separate seat ceiling as a team grows. Those controls will matter most to providers coordinating several locations; a single small setting may have less need for them.

Key features

Attendance and check-in include AI smart check-ins that learn nursery patterns. Families can receive instant updates, photos, daily diaries and progress reports, and use two-way messaging. Parents connect through a secure web link without installing an app, while staff have native iOS and Android apps. That division keeps parent access simple without giving up dedicated staff apps.

Billing covers invoices, fees, online payments, payment portals and automated funding calculations. Alongside lesson planning and child development records, this gives managers several core administrative and care tasks in one platform. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using TLS 1.3; BloomKidz states it is GDPR compliant, ISO 27001 certified and ICO registered, and stores data on UK-based servers. It also provides a full nursery data export within 30 days after leaving.

UK-based support is stated to be available 24/7. If a nursery approaches its child limit, the system notifies users rather than cutting off access or automatically charging more. That is a useful safeguard for managing growth, though providers still need to move to the appropriate capacity tier.

Pricing

Every feature is free through 31 December 2026, with no subscription fees. After that offer, monthly paid plans are priced by registered-child capacity: £24.99 per month for 1–30 children, £34.99 per month for 31–50, £44.99 per month for 51–75, £54.99 per month for 76–100, £69.99 per month for 101–150 and £84.99 per month for 151–200. The first tier is the entry point for a small nursery; larger settings can budget against progressively higher child-count bands. All plans include unlimited staff users, so the listed capacity—not staff headcount—is the stated pricing boundary.

Providers with more than 200 children need custom pricing. Group and multi-site providers also have custom pricing based on settings, children and requirements; the group offer specifies volume pricing, centralised billing and a dedicated account manager. Nurseries should compare the value of those arrangements against their need for consolidated oversight, rather than assume that the standard child-count tiers apply.

A 30-day trial is available, and users can cancel a trial or subscription at any time without cancellation fees or lock-in. There is no setup fee. BloomKidz does not automatically charge or cut off access as a nursery nears its child limit, but a setting that exceeds its tier will need to account for the next capacity band.

Platforms

Staff can use native apps for iOS and Android. Parents access the service through a secure web link and do not need to download an app. That suits nurseries seeking mobile staff access while keeping family participation independent of an app install.

Who it's for

BloomKidz is strongest for nurseries that want administration, billing, family communication and development tracking under one roof, particularly providers with several rooms or sites. Unlimited staff users and granular site permissions support larger teams. A nursery needing only a small parent-communication tool may find this broader operational scope unnecessary.

Pros and cons

Broad operational coverage: enrolment, attendance, billing, lesson planning and development records sit alongside family messaging, reducing the need to split these tasks across separate tools.
Room for multi-site growth: unlimited rooms, groups and sites under one account, with granular permissions, support central oversight.
No staff-seat ceiling: plans include unlimited staff users, useful for larger teams.
Free offer has an end date: all features are free only through 31 December 2026, so nurseries should plan for a paid tier afterward.
Capacity sets the monthly cost: prices rise with registered-child bands, and providers above 200 children or operating as groups need custom pricing.

Alternatives

Early Childhood Education Software is a useful category starting point for comparing nursery and early-years tools. MyKidReports is worth considering for a very small setting: its free MKR Lite plan covers up to five children, with one staff account and one room, rather than BloomKidz's broader capacity-based offer.

QikKids is an alternative for providers who want support across web, desktop and mobile platforms, while BloomKidz's listed staff apps are iOS and Android. Parent may suit a setting prioritising messaging, media sharing, newsfeeds, scheduling and attendance reporting. Lillio is another paid option with a free plan and custom pricing based on center needs and size.

Procare offers a home version at $25.00 USD per month for smaller centers and in-home daycare providers; classroom management is unavailable for in-home users. ChildPlus is an alternative. CubbyTrack offers a Home Provider plan free for up to four active children with one center staff account. Gertrude offers a free, unlimited-use download without support or warranty.

Verdict

Choose BloomKidz if your nursery wants a single system for daily administration, family communication and development records, especially when multiple sites or a growing staff team make central controls valuable. The feature range, unlimited staff users and clear capacity tiers are compelling; the decision to look elsewhere comes down to fit, a need for a different platform mix, or reluctance to budget for a subscription once the free 2026 offer ends.
