In their own words
BlueCat Horizon
BlueCat Horizon coordinates DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and network operations across hybrid and multicloud environments. Its first generally available service, Horizon DDI Orchestration, combines SaaS-hosted IPAM with centralized DNS and DHCP orchestration. Hosted IPAM provides a central inventory of networks, subnets, and IP addresses. Lightweight agents connect existing DNS and DHCP environments, while local agents and service points can keep services running locally under Horizon's SaaS governance. Network teams can standardize changes and synchronize data through a shared interface and API. Integrations include Microsoft Active Directory, BIND, Kea, cloud DNS, third-party components, and BlueCat solutions. Granular role-based access supports delegation by region, business unit, or function. The subscription is metered by Unique Active IP, which includes addresses with DNS records, DHCP leases or assignments, or recent active discovery. Pricing is on request, and BlueCat offers a trial request form without stating a duration. Advanced DNS services are marked as coming soon; observability and AI-assisted operations are described as platform vision rather than general-availability commitments.
NetBox
NetBox is a network and infrastructure platform that keeps physical components, virtual assets, IPs, and VLANs in a shared source of truth. Its stated uses include data center infrastructure management, IP address management, network automation, and network source-of-truth work. Every action is recorded in an audit log. Teams can use the hosted SaaS edition, deploy NetBox in their own infrastructure, or use the open-source community offering. NetBox Labs describes itself as the commercial steward of the open-source project. Hosted plans are positioned for different scales and needs: Starter for infrastructure with hundreds of devices, Professional for infrastructure at scale and automation, and Premium for scaled environments requiring advanced security, compliance, and deployment options. NetBox Enterprise is self-managed, with an air-gap edition available. Enterprise subscriptions include 24/7 expert assistance and training. Named integrations include ServiceNow, Splunk, Ansible, Itential, Gluware, and VMware. NetBox Cloud offers SSO integrations with Azure, Okta, and Google. Prices for the named plans are not displayed; the pricing page directs prospective customers to sales.
