In their own words

Boddle

Boddle is a K–6 learning game with math, English language arts, and science content for classrooms, families, and homeschoolers. Its learning roadmap adjusts material to a learner's performance. Student tools include text-to-speech, question explanations, a sketch scratchpad, and placement testing. Teachers can assign standards-aligned skills and review mastery reports by student, skill, and standard. Google Classroom and Clever provide single sign-on and roster syncing. The premium page describes more than 2,000 skills and over 48,500 questions, rationales, and explainer videos. Boddle says its full learning platform is free for every teacher and school, with Premium as an optional add-on. The Basic plan includes all learning content and more than 35,000 questions for students. Listed Premium prices are $4.08 per month billed annually and $9.99 per month billed monthly. Boddle runs in web browsers on Chromebooks and laptops, with iOS 12+ and Android 9+ apps. It states that it complies with COPPA, FERPA, and SOPPA and holds KidSafeSeal certification.

GCompris

GCompris is an educational software suite for children aged 2 to 10, with more than 100 activities and more in development. Its activities cover computer discovery, reading, arithmetic, science, geography, games, colors, shapes, Braille and telling time. Designed for learning and training inside or outside the classroom, it works without an Internet connection. Educators can choose activity levels to match each child's skill, and the GCompris-teachers companion lets teachers create customized datasets and receive pupils' results for some activities. The application privacy policy says it does not request or record user-provided information or collect information automatically. GCompris is free and available for Android, Linux, macOS and Windows; downloads also include Raspberry Pi. The download page notes that the latest version is not yet available for macOS. There is no iOS version, as the FAQ says iOS building and publishing requirements conflict with the software's licenses. The project is hosted and developed by the KDE community and released under the GNU Affero General Public License.
