In their own words
BoldSign
BoldSign is an electronic signature service for sending, signing, and managing documents. It offers templates, bulk sending, audit trails, SMS authentication, and signature ordering, along with APIs and SDKs for embedding signing workflows in applications. Android and iOS apps support mobile signing, and Chrome and Edge extensions are available. The free Essential plan includes 25 envelopes per month, two templates, and one user. A 30-day free trial does not require a credit card; paid plans start at $5/user/mo (annual). Team collaboration, roles, custom permissions, and single sign-on are included in Business and higher plans. Listed integrations include Salesforce, HubSpot, OneDrive, Power Automate, Zapier, and Xero. BoldSign states that it uses AES-256 encryption and complies with SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS. It describes its signatures as legally enforceable under the ESIGN Act, eIDAS, and global laws. Essential support includes email, chat, and phone.
OpenSign
OpenSign is an open-source PDF e-signature solution for signing, storing, and securing documents. Users can create reusable templates with pre-placed widgets and send them through the API to one or many signers. API workflows include self-signing, drafts, signer roles, public template links, and real-time webhook notifications. Templates can be embedded in React, Next.js, HTML, JavaScript, and Angular projects. The documentation lists TLS-encrypted transport, audit trails, IP logging, and tamper-evident signed PDFs; account protection includes two-factor authentication and passkey sign-in. The free plan costs nothing and lists unlimited digital signatures and templates, completion certificates, sequential signing, OpenSign Drive, and email notifications. Its free-plan guide limits invitation emails to 15 per month; bulk sending and public links require a paid plan. Live API tokens require Professional or Teams, though sandbox tokens are available on all plans. OpenSign provides Docker self-hosting instructions for Linux, macOS, and Windows. Some SMTP features are limited to paid plans.
