In their own words
Book Creator
Book Creator is a classroom tool for students and teachers to create books and show learning through text, images, audio and video. Users can record voice, images or video in the app, work together on books in real time, and leave feedback as audio, video or text comments. The product describes more than 130 built-in accessibility features, including speech-to-text, text-to-speech, screen reader support and video captions. Translation can cover text, audio, comments, captions and entire books. Books and libraries can be published, shared by QR code, downloaded as ePub or printed as PDFs. It supports fixed-layout books and imports PDFs and EPUB files created with Book Creator. The free Starter plan costs nothing and includes one library with up to 40 books and unlimited students; a private My Books library can hold 40 more. There is no per-student cost or limit, and no limit on page count or audio and video duration. It runs on Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows.
Edpuzzle
Edpuzzle is an online learning platform for teachers and educational institutions to assign interactive video lessons and follow student progress. Teachers can choose a YouTube video, upload their own, or reuse another teacher’s lesson, then add voice recordings and questions. The Question Generator can insert multiple-choice or open-ended questions, though it may be unavailable if a video lacks enough information. Students can work at their own pace while teachers check progress in real time. Integrations include learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Canvas, Schoology, Moodle, Blackboard, and others. The Google Classroom add-on lets teachers manage assignments there, and students can complete lessons without a separate Edpuzzle account. Progress tracking requires student accounts, except in open classes. Edpuzzle offers web, iOS, and Android apps, plus a Chrome extension for screen recording and importing YouTube videos. The free Basic plan includes 20 interactive activities and 10 supported assignments. Pro Teacher costs $13.75 a month and includes unlimited activities and 120 supported assignments. Extra supported assignments, up to 250 total, cost an additional $19.25/month on annual plans only.
