Overview

SchedulingKit combines appointment booking with payment collection, calendar coordination and tools for teams. It is best suited to service businesses that want those workflows alongside integrations and AI options; solo users can start free, but the booking and calendar caps make that plan a limited long-term fit.

Made by ZTABS, founded in 2022 and based in Houston, SchedulingKit says it serves more than 5,000 teams in over 40 countries. Its audience spans solo professionals and businesses in fields including therapy, fitness, salons and law.

Key features

Bookings and calendars: Public booking pages, group appointments and two-way calendar sync cover individual and shared scheduling. Connections include Google, Outlook, iCloud, Apple and Exchange; automated reminders help reduce manual follow-up.
Team coordination: Round-robin assignment, collective availability and multi-staff scheduling support teams that need to distribute appointments or coordinate shared calendars.
Payments and integrations: Users can collect payments, deposits and invoices, then automate follow-ups. Stripe and PayPal are supported, and the homepage also names Apple Pay and Google Pay. Video links can be generated for Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex. Salesforce and HubSpot integrations, Slack and more than 1,000 apps through Zapier extend the service into other workflows.
Automation and development: The REST API, real-time webhooks and embeddable JavaScript booking widget give organizations options for connecting or embedding scheduling. AI offerings include a receptionist, voice agent, chatbot, agents, CRM and scheduling tools.
Security and access: SchedulingKit states that it encrypts data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.3, and offers role-based access and audit logging. It supports GDPR-related consent management, data portability, erasure tools and a Data Processing Agreement. Public booking pages are stated to meet WCAG 2.1 AA, including keyboard and screen-reader support and high-contrast modes. The service is not HIPAA-compliant and does not provide a Business Associate Agreement, ruling it out for workflows that require either.

Pricing

The Free plan is free, forever. It allows one team member, one event type, 50 bookings per month, one calendar connection and one workspace. That is a useful way for a solo operator to try basic booking, but the event and booking caps will constrain a busier practice.

Standard costs 10.00 USD per month billed annually, or $12/seat/month monthly. It adds unlimited event types and bookings, six calendar connections, 100 SMS credits per month and unlimited workspaces or businesses. This is the clearest upgrade for solo professionals whose booking volume has outgrown Free.

Pro costs 16.00 USD per month billed annually, or $20/seat/month monthly. It raises the calendar allowance to unlimited and SMS credits to 250 per month, making it a better fit when multiple calendars or more reminder volume matter. Business costs 30.00 USD per month billed annually, or $36/seat/month monthly, and includes 500 SMS credits per month plus priority support for teams at scale. Enterprise has custom pricing, unlimited SMS credits, dedicated support, custom integrations, SLA guarantees and volume discounts.

Paid plans charge per active team member across all workspaces, so adding staff affects the bill even when they work in separate businesses. Paid plans include unlimited workspaces or businesses from one login. The 14-day trial returns to Free unless the user subscribes; users can cancel, upgrade or downgrade anytime. Confirm the billing term before subscribing, since the annual and monthly prices differ.

Platforms

SchedulingKit runs on the web and offers iPhone/iPad and Android apps that sync bookings, contacts and event types with the web app. An API is also available for custom integrations.

Who it's for

SchedulingKit is a strong fit for solo service providers moving beyond a simple calendar link and for growing teams that need shared availability, appointment assignment, payments and connected tools in one scheduling workflow. Its mobile apps and broad calendar support suit businesses coordinating appointments across devices. It is not the right choice for organizations that require HIPAA compliance or a Business Associate Agreement.

Pros and cons

Pro: The Free plan provides a no-cost starting point, while Standard removes booking and event-type caps for a solo user who is ready to pay.
Pro: Two-way calendar sync, team assignment, payments and video integrations cover much of the appointment lifecycle without limiting the product to booking alone.
Pro: API access, webhooks and a JavaScript widget offer practical integration paths for organizations with custom workflows.
Con: Free is capped at 50 monthly bookings, one event type and one calendar connection, so it can quickly become inadequate as a solo business grows.
Con: Per-active-member pricing across all workspaces means a multi-staff operation should account for seats, not just the plan's headline price.
Con: The lack of HIPAA compliance and a Business Associate Agreement excludes healthcare workflows that require those protections.

Alternatives

For tutoring-specific choices, compare tutoring scheduling software; for veterinary appointment needs, see veterinary appointment scheduling software. Readers comparing broader booking products can browse appointment scheduling software, while hiring teams can look at interview scheduling software.

GetSetTime is another freemium web option, with a free plan for one seat and 50 bookings per month. Consider it if a basic web booking page and email notifications are enough; SchedulingKit adds mobile apps, payments and team scheduling.

Classcard is a paid Android, iOS and web option whose Starter plan is 99.00 USD per month billed monthly and includes unlimited staff, students and classes plus 20GB of storage. Choose it when class and student management are the priority rather than general appointment scheduling.

Tutorbase offers a free core plan with all features and no monthly subscription, charging a 1% fee when invoicing through the system. It may suit users who prefer transaction-based costs to SchedulingKit's per-seat paid plans.

LearnSuite prices its Pay-as-you-go plan at 0.35 USD per completed lesson-hour per month, with no platform fee and up to 400 lesson-hours per month. Consider it when lesson volume is a better cost basis than paid scheduling seats.

TutorBird costs 16.95 USD per month, plus $4.95 for each additional tutor or staff member, and includes unlimited students and file storage. It is an alternative for tutoring operations that want those included capacities.

Teach 'n Go starts at 229.00 USD per month for up to 700 live students. It is aimed at a different scale and student-management need than SchedulingKit's booking-focused free and per-seat plans.

Teachworks has a Starter plan at 16.49 USD per month plus $0.320 per student lesson, with unlimited students, teachers and user accounts. It may suit tutoring businesses willing to pay by lesson as well as by subscription.

TutorCruncher starts at 30.00 USD per month and includes automatic payments and payroll, split payments and standard card fees of 3.85%. Consider it when those tutoring-business payment and payroll functions are more important than SchedulingKit's broader appointment toolkit.

Verdict

Choose SchedulingKit if you are a solo professional or service team that wants booking, payments, calendar coordination and integrations under one roof, with a free starting point and a clear route to higher booking capacity. Look elsewhere if you need HIPAA compliance, or if seat-based pricing and the limits of the free tier do not fit your operation.
