Overview

Brankas is an API platform for financial data, account-to-account payments, and open finance infrastructure. It is best suited to banks, financial institutions, and technology companies building financial services into their own products. Its breadth and deployment choices are compelling for that work, but custom pricing and institution-by-institution coverage make it a poor fit for buyers seeking a quick, uniform plug-in.

Its products span Direct for incoming payments, Disburse for outgoing transfers, a payment infrastructure solution, and the Open Finance Suite API hub. Brankas reports integrations with more than 80 financial institutions and partners across six markets; its coverage page identifies institutions in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, with supported products and availability varying by institution. For a wider category view, see Bank Connectivity Software.

Key features

Financial data APIs: One integration can retrieve account and transaction data from multiple financial institutions. Balance, Statement, Income, and Expense products give businesses several kinds of data to build on; investment data and transaction enrichment are also supported. This range is useful when a product needs more than basic account details, but institution coverage still needs to match the intended customers.
Payments in both directions: Direct supports account-to-account transfers and payments. Disburse automates transfers from corporate bank accounts, individually or in bulk through a dashboard, and Brankas says it does not hold customers’ money. That distinction matters to businesses choosing a payout workflow without placing funds with the provider.
Open Finance Suite: The suite supports open banking, open finance compliance, and Banking-as-a-Service. Cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployments give institutions room to fit the platform to their operating model; the trade-off is a project implementation rather than an instant self-serve setup.
Developer access: Businesses can create an account for sandbox access, and developers can generate API keys in the Brankas Dashboard for sandbox and live environments. Separate environments support evaluation before production integration.
Mobile SDKs: Brankas Tap SDKs for Android and iOS can launch an embedded WebView for Brankas product flows. This gives app teams a way to connect mobile experiences to those flows without treating the SDK as a fully native interface.
Security and integration: Brankas says it uses HTTPS and encryption, is ISO 27001 certified and PCI-DSS certified or compliant, does not store end-user credentials, and undergoes regular audits by financial regulators. It says it is compatible with most core banking systems and technology stacks, a useful starting point for integration planning rather than a guarantee of fit with every institution.
Implementation support: The Open Finance Suite describes implementation projects of 8–12 weeks and one-to-one post-sales support. Implementation is also offered through Brankas’s certified team or an approved systems integration partner, which suits organizations that need assistance but entails a meaningful deployment commitment.

Pricing

Brankas is a paid product with custom pricing. The Basic and Enterprise plans have no stated prices, and the Open Finance Suite invites prospective customers to request a quote. The suite’s cloud, on-premise, or hybrid deployment options and one-to-one post-sales support make a tailored commercial arrangement plausible, but buyers should request pricing for their specific products, institutions, and deployment needs.

Free access is available for trying Brankas through an account and sandbox, and a free trial is offered. The sandbox is for evaluation; the Data API documents separate sandbox and live environments. No trial length, production quota, seat allowance, or renewal term is given, so teams should establish those terms before budgeting or planning a production rollout. This is not a published free tier with a stated usage cap.

Platforms

Brankas supports Android, iOS, web, API, and self-hosted deployments. The mobile SDKs target Android and iOS, while the Open Finance Suite can be deployed in cloud, on-premise, or hybrid configurations. That range serves both app builders and institutions with deployment requirements that extend beyond a hosted API service.

Who it's for

Brankas fits banks, financial institutions, and technology companies that need financial data or payment capabilities embedded in their services, especially where open finance or Banking-as-a-Service is part of the plan. It is less suitable for a small team seeking a low-cost, self-serve connection with predictable production access: pricing is custom, integrations require implementation work, and institution-level support varies.

Pros and cons

Pro — broad financial capabilities: Data products, money-in payments, payouts, and an open finance API hub can support several financial workflows through one provider.
Pro — deployment flexibility: Cloud, on-premise, and hybrid options make the Open Finance Suite relevant to organizations with different infrastructure needs.
Pro — defined implementation support: The suite pairs 8–12-week implementation projects with one-to-one post-sales support, useful for organizations that need a supported rollout.
Con — institution coverage is not uniform: Products and availability vary by financial institution, so a broad market footprint does not ensure the exact connection a business needs.
Con — commercial planning requires a quote: Basic, Enterprise, and Open Finance Suite prices are not fixed publicly, making early cost comparisons difficult.
Con — implementation takes planning: The stated 8–12-week suite project timeline is a significant commitment for teams looking for a fast deployment.

Alternatives

Consider Powens if its Android, iOS, API, and web coverage suits your product and you prefer custom API plans whose purchase orders set pricing; its enterprise plans offer dedicated hosting and support. MX may suit teams that want a freemium entry point: its free account covers 100 users, while its MX Platform plan is demo-led and priced on request.

TrueLayer Data API is worth considering when a free sandbox using mock data is enough for initial testing and production pricing based on volume and use case suits the project. Salt Edge Data Aggregation offers a free monthly developer trial with simulated bank fixtures across its product surfaces, but has no free plan; consider it when that trial model fits your evaluation needs.

BankConnector is a more directly priced option for teams whose needs fit its Starter plan at 100.00 EUR per month, billed monthly with no minimum term, 100 payments included monthly, and 1.00 EUR for each additional payment; prices exclude VAT. Envestnet | Yodlee may fit a developer who needs a sandbox with five preconfigured users and sample data, but not live-site linking.

Open Bank Project is an alternative for teams seeking a public API sandbox with test or synthetic data and a commercial license. Plaid may suit eligible US and Canada teams looking for free trial access: its trial allows up to 10 production items, subject to eligibility and institution support.

Verdict

Choose Brankas if you are building financial services for markets and institutions it supports and want data, payments, and open finance infrastructure with flexible deployment and implementation support. Its strongest case is the combination of product breadth and options for institutional deployment. Look elsewhere if you need transparent production pricing, a standardized coverage guarantee, or a short, self-serve implementation path.
