Brother iPrint&Scan
Brother iPrint&Scan lets owners of supported Brother machines print from and scan to the machine using mobile devices or computers. On mobile, it can print photos, documents, and web pages; the Android FAQ also lists Gmail and cloud services. Depending on the platform, scans can be saved to the device or cloud storage, emailed, or opened in other apps. The iOS listing names Dropbox, OneDrive, and Evernote for printing, and iCloud as a scan destination. On supported newer models, mobile features may include image editing, fax sending and preview, copy preview, and machine status. Windows and macOS provide detailed scan controls, and users can save settings as reusable Workflows. The app is free, with listed output formats of PDF and JPEG, and support for OCR and ADF. Brother lists Windows 7 or later and macOS 10.10 or later. Printing and scanning are not available on every Brother machine; mobile devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network as the machine.
MyHeritage Mobile App
MyHeritage Mobile App helps people build family trees, investigate family history and share family photos and discoveries with relatives. Users can add people to a tree and edit family members’ details from the app. It also provides mobile access to MyHeritage’s search engine and billions of records, including family trees, vital records, immigration and military records, censuses and newspapers. Some records are free to view; others require a MyHeritage data subscription. Users can upload photos from their devices to a family site, review Smart Matches and Record Matches, and add finds from Instant Discoveries. Basic family sites are free, with a limit of 250 people across the site’s trees and 500 MB of storage. Guests are automatically prevented from seeing sensitive details about living family members, though owners can adjust privacy settings. The app is available on Android, iOS and web. The newest version requires Android 4.1 or later or iOS 9.0 or later, plus a touch screen and high-definition display.
