In their own words

Brownbook

Brownbook is a global business listing directory where people can add listings, update details, and review businesses. Owners can claim listings to verify information and take control, enrich profiles with text, photos, and videos, and receive alerts about reviews. Brownbook also offers BLINX, a mobile-optimised business bio page with a short URL and QR code. The free business listing costs nothing. For bulk listing work, the Publisher API supports searching, inserting, editing, and deleting listings; it costs $0.10 a month, billed per listing per month, and requires a signed API agreement and an authorized OAuth key or token. Commercial users may not submit more than five listings for gain unless using the authorized API under a commercial agreement. Brownbook says listings can support search visibility and attract customers. The service is available on the web and through an API, and offers help pages and an email contact form.

Vitals

Vitals helps patients find physicians and schedule appointments through its website and mobile apps. Users can search by specialty, condition, or procedure and location, and look for doctors who accept insurance including Medicare and Medicaid. The homepage lists Chat Now and Video Visit appointment options and reports more than 9 million provider reviews. Vitals says it displays moderated reviews submitted on its site and limits each user to rating a doctor once a month. Its listings cover actively licensed physicians in the United States, and Vitals says listings are not removed or suppressed upon request. Provider information is gathered from sources such as state medical boards, federal websites, hospitals, doctors, surveys, business alliances, and third-party affiliates. Physicians or their staff members can claim a provider profile. Consumers can use Vitals to find, research, and compare providers for free. Vitals describes the website as informational and says it should not be relied on for medical diagnosis or treatment.
