In their own words

Btrfsmaintenance

Btrfsmaintenance is a free set of scripts for automating maintenance on Btrfs filesystems. It can run scrub, balance, trim, and defragmentation, with separate settings to enable, disable, and configure each task. Scrub reads filesystem data and metadata to check checksums, which can reveal hardware problems or bit rot; when a good redundant copy exists, it can repair data automatically. Periodic jobs can be scheduled with cron or systemd timers, though only one scheduling method can be active on a system. The project supports widely used distributions, provides installation guidance for Debian-based systems, and describes manual installation for others. On SUSE-based distributions, a zypper plugin can defragment RPM database files after package installation. Settings are designed for a default installation with Btrfs on the root filesystem and can be changed in the sysconfig file. Scrub may create intense read activity, and balance can use substantial read and write resources; task concurrency can be serialized to manage impact. Directory defragmentation does not descend into other mount points, nested subvolumes, or snapshots, which need separate paths listed. It is licensed under GPL-2.0 and available for Linux and self-hosted use.

DymaxIO

DymaxIO is Windows performance software from Condusiv for reducing I/O bottlenecks and improving application response times. It targets physical and virtual PCs and servers, cloud systems, and I/O-intensive applications such as MS-SQL. Condusiv says the product can return over 40% of lost throughput and deliver 30%+ latency and throughput improvement. IntelliWrite optimizes writes, while IntelliMemory uses idle available DRAM for read caching. The software runs automatically in the background, requires no reboot and is described as having near-zero overhead. Supported systems include Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11, as well as Windows Server 2008 R2 through 2025. It is described as hypervisor and storage agnostic, with support for VMware ESX/ESXi, Hyper-V, Xen, SAN/NAS, local and all-flash storage, Azure and AWS environments. DymaxIO requires 3GB of physical memory per server or VM, with 4GB recommended for optimum caching. Its dashboard reports eliminated read and write I/O, storage I/O time saved, and hourly views across 13 metrics. Annual client, server and host licenses are listed, and a 30-day server trial is available.
