In their own words
Bubble
Bubble is a platform for building web and mobile apps, with support for Android, iOS, and the web. Projects can use a built-in database, authentication, API integrations, and shared workflows and backend across web and mobile apps. Users can build before paying to launch. The Free plan includes one app editor, 50K workload units per month, and six hours of server logs. Native mobile apps can be published to the iOS and Android app stores, and production-ready apps include security scanning. Bubble can connect with services such as Stripe and Google Maps. A 14-day trial is listed; unless canceled, it converts to a paid Starter subscription. Starting that trial involves a temporary $1 card pre-authorization, which expires within 5-10 business days. Starter Web + Mobile costs $59 a month, billed annually; Growth costs $209 a month, billed annually, and Team costs $549 a month, billed annually. The maker is Bubble Group, Inc., headquartered in New York, NY, United States, and founded in 2012.
MIT App Inventor
MIT App Inventor is a free, browser-based platform for creating, testing, and sharing mobile apps with block-based programming. Its Designer is used to choose components, and its Blocks Editor is where users program app behavior. Projects can include games and media, AI for images, sounds, and text, surveys and charts, maps, sensors, and internet-connected devices. The MIT AI2 Companion app supports testing as an app is built on iOS and Android devices over Wi-Fi. Users can share projects for others to load and remix, then package completed apps for installation on Android. Although apps can be built for Android and iOS, the getting-started information says packaged app building and installation are Android-only for now. The browser tool supports Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on most laptops and desktops, plus Chromebooks, iPads, and Android tablets. A Google account is required. Creators own their apps and can download or delete them from the server. MIT says it tracks site usage and project-development information and may log device and browser details.
