In their own words
Bugzilla
Bugzilla is a self-hosted, web-based system for tracking defects, issues, enhancements, and other product change requests. It is free and open source, and runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows, with API access. Its search ranges from full-text queries to advanced searches, including time-based criteria. Users can choose which bug-change emails they receive, and scheduled search reports can be sent as often as every fifteen minutes. Reports can include tables and graphs, and can be exported as CSV. Administrators can tailor workflows, statuses, resolutions, and fields, then extend an installation with templates and extensions. Groups control who can view or edit bugs; an insider group can make comments and attachments private. Bugzilla supports XML-RPC and JSON-RPC services, several authentication methods, and MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases. Its Patch Viewer connects with LXR, CVS, and Bonsai. Support is community-based through mailing lists and chat rooms; the project does not directly provide commercial support.
Trac
Trac is a free, self-hosted system for software development projects that combines issue tracking with a wiki. It takes a minimal approach to web-based project management. The wiki markup works not only in wiki pages but also in ticket descriptions and comments, version-control log messages, milestone descriptions and reports. It can link bugs, tasks, changesets, files and wiki pages. Trac provides an interface to Subversion, Git and other version control systems. Its timeline orders current and past project events chronologically, while its roadmap lists upcoming milestones. Plugins are listed among the resources for extending or customizing a setup, and custom workflows and workflow automation are available. Trac is deployed as a Python web application through WSGI and a web server such as Apache; authentication can be configured through web-server mechanisms including Basic and Digest. The project homepage identifies version 1.6 as the latest stable release. Listed platforms are Linux, macOS, Windows, web and self-hosted. The free plan costs nothing.
