In their own words

Bytebase Enterprise

Bytebase Enterprise is a database control plane for organizations standardizing how teams and AI agents change, access and audit databases. It combines role-based permissions with multi-level approval workflows across teams and environments, and keeps immutable logs of access and configuration changes for compliance reporting and forensic analysis. Dynamic data masking conceals sensitive fields at query time in production and non-production environments. Just-in-time exemptions provide database access for a limited period and expire automatically. Named integrations include Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redis, Snowflake, SQL Server and Terraform; teams can also build integrations using RESTful and gRPC APIs. The self-hosted edition can run in a data center or private cloud without external connectivity. Bytebase states it has SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA certifications, and describes internal multi-factor authentication, least-privilege access reviews and annual third-party penetration tests. Enterprise includes SLA support, an MCP Server and AI Assistance. It is billed yearly and cannot be cancelled mid-year; pricing is on request, with a 14-day trial.

Terraform

Terraform is an infrastructure-as-code tool for defining, provisioning, and managing cloud and on-premises resources through human-readable configuration files. Its core process is to write a configuration, review an execution plan, then apply approved changes. Providers connect Terraform to services through APIs, and the Terraform Registry lists providers for AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Splunk. Modules package reusable infrastructure configurations that users can find or publish in the Registry. The free Community Edition is a downloadable command-line tool. HCP Terraform adds remote execution, repository connections to GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket that can trigger plans after changes, and an API. It stores state remotely with encryption at rest and offers workspaces, single sign-on, and role-based access controls. HCP Terraform and Terraform Enterprise support Sentinel policies. HashiCorp cautions that policy-as-code is a guardrail, not a security boundary, and trusted providers and modules matter because they can access workspace variables and state. Downloads are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
