eDrawings Viewer

eDrawings Viewer is a product-design communication tool for sharing and examining 2D drawings and 3D models. It opens eDrawings and SOLIDWORKS files, plus DXF and DWG files. For review, users can redline 2D or 3D data, add comments, and save markups. Inspection tools include dynamic cross sections and views that move or explode assembly components to reveal internal structure. Measurement is available, though it can be disabled in an eDrawings file to protect design data. The Viewer can save model files as STL, TIFF, JPEG, or BMP, and compressed eDrawings files are easier to send by email. Windows and macOS versions are available alongside Android and iOS apps; the mobile apps include augmented reality through the device camera. Publisher applications can create eDrawings files from several CAD products, including SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, CATIA V5, and SketchUp. Cloud Services for SOLIDWORKS lets invited collaborators view, mark up, and comment through a browser without installing software. The free plan is free; advanced collaboration requires eDrawings Professional, and mobile app pricing varies by region.
