Caesium Image Compressor

Caesium Image Compressor reduces digital pictures for storage, sending, and sharing, with desktop and online options. The maker says compression can reach 90% without visible quality loss. Desktop tools include a real-time preview, batch processing, resizing, metadata storage options, and folder structure support. Supported formats are JPG, PNG, WebP, and TIFF; both compression modes are available. The online compressor works without a dedicated download, states images never leave your device, and offers a lossless mode that preserves image quality completely. It accepts up to 10 files at once, with a 20 MB limit per file. Caesium also provides command-line tools for image compression. The free software is listed for Linux, macOS, web, and Windows. The current Windows desktop version is v2.8.5 for Windows 10 build 1809 or later, with installer and portable downloads. The macOS version supports macOS 12 or later. Linux users can compile the source or obtain a third-party build; the project README reports testing on Ubuntu 22.04 and Manjaro.

TinyPNG

TinyPNG is an image compression service offering lossy compression, batch processing, resizing, metadata controls and API access. It supports JPEG XL, AVIF, WebP, JPG, PNG and APNG files. Free web use allows up to 20 image compressions per session, with each image limited to 5 MB, and up to three conversions per session. The API includes 500 free compressions each month; unused free compressions reset at the start of each calendar month and do not roll over. Above that allowance, charges apply to successful compressions, with no subscription fee or minimum charge. Uploaded images are accessible only to the uploader and retained for a maximum of 48 hours. TinyPNG removes unnecessary metadata, while the API can preserve selected copyright, location and creation-date metadata. Official plugins are available for WordPress and Figma, alongside a beta Zapier integration. Web Pro offers unlimited compressions and a 75 MB per-image limit, while Web Ultra allows 150 MB images and unlimited conversions. The maker is headquartered in Hoevelaken, Netherlands.
