In their own words
Calque
Calque is a free, MIT-licensed tool that turns a PNG or JPEG website screenshot into HTML and CSS by measuring pixels. It can produce a self-contained HTML file or JSON measurements, including colors, type scale, weights, spacing, container width, gutters, and corner radii. It also identifies sections, columns, cards, buttons, alignment, and reading order, and can reconstruct vertical gradients. With the assets option, it crops photographs from the screenshot for use in the output. Its check command renders the result in an installed Chrome-family browser and compares it pixel by pixel with the screenshot. Calque is packaged as a Claude skill that provides measurements for Claude to use when writing project code. The documented workflow uses Tesseract for OCR; Docker is optional. The maker says it makes no model call or API request and works offline after OCR data is cached. It handles one screenshot, not a whole site, and cannot identify an exact typeface. Icons become placeholders, and photo crops retain screenshot resolution and any overlaid text.
Fronty
Fronty creates HTML and CSS websites from prompts, screenshots, designs, existing URLs, starter templates, or a blank start. Its AI editor can also revise a real page from natural-language instructions. In the online visual editor, users click elements to edit them, adjust layouts, preview responsive views, and use history and autosave without installing software. Fronty includes structured website tables, dynamic content, and forms, with submissions shown in a dashboard inbox. Users can publish with managed hosting and HTTPS, connect a custom domain on paid plans, or download a ZIP of standalone HTML and host it elsewhere. The service describes support for page metadata, clean URLs, an updating sitemap, semantic headings, and labelled controls. It provides responsive HTML/CSS output, but not Figma import. The free plan costs nothing and publishes to a fronty.live address with Fronty branding; page and usage allowances vary by plan. Documentation marks forms and dynamic content as limited, and publishing as a limited rollout. Export is capped at 200 non-deleted pages and may retain CDN dependencies.
